We’re loving how this barn sliding door turned out on one of our recently completed jobs!

A perfect mix of function and style – it adds character to the space while keeping things practical. The soft-close system gives it that smooth, quiet finish that makes all the difference. The overall look came up beautifully and ties in so well with the rest of the build. Always a good feeling seeing the final touches come together.

Last weekend, we lost more than a teammate — we lost a brother.

To some, he was Dylan. But to us, and anyone who knew him through us, he was Pickle.

Pickle was the kind of bloke who made himself family from day one. He wasn’t just part of our crew — he was stitched into the fabric of our lives. A brother to the boys on site, and an uncle to our little girls off it. The kind of mate who brought heart, humour, and loyalty wherever he went.

He was cheeky, hardworking, full of pride in his trade, and always up for a laugh. Our job site is a little quieter now — the gap he leaves behind is impossible to fill.

We’re gutted. There’s no other word for it. Pickle didn’t just work beside us — he grew with us, shared life with us, and helped shape the kind of team we’re proud to be. He was part of our family. He is part of our family.

To Pickle’s loved ones — our hearts are with you. Thank you for raising and sharing such an incredible young man. We will carry him with us in every job, every laugh, and every memory.

We love you, Pickle. You’ll always have a place in our team and in our hearts.

It’s been all systems go at Spoonies Building PTY LTD lately! We’ve been flat out on jobs across Collah and Gilgandra, and we’re stoked to see things buzzing.

Among the chaos, Spoonie himself has been taking time to mentor a new potential apprentice Lucas—spending some solid 1:1 time on site, sharing the ropes (and probably a few dad jokes too). 👷‍♂️👨‍🔧

Safe to say the future of the crew is in good hands!

But let’s be honest… when Mrs Boss dropped by the job site, it wasn’t the mentoring she noticed first—it was the overflowing trailer and the mountain of off cuts that were “definitely going to the tip… soon.” 😂
