How do you build cultural confidence in the workplace? 🌿Start by learning on Country.

Team members from UGL LTD's telecommunications business participated in a cultural immersion experience at Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park in New South Wales.

Through storytelling and knowledge sharing on the traditional lands of the Guringai people and neighbouring Darug peoples, our team strengthened their understanding of Aboriginal culture.

💬 “Taking part gave us an appreciation for traditional ecological knowledge and sustainable land management practices. It’s helped increase our cultural confidence,” said UGL Acting Project Manager, Mustafa Al-Nakeeb.

These experiences help strengthen cultural capability across our teams and support our commitment to reconciliation.

Supporting local businesses to build capability for major infrastructure projects 🚆🤝

The first round of the Logan Major Project Readiness Program has officially wrapped up, with 30 Logan-based businesses completing the program and strengthening their readiness to participate in major project supply chains across South East Queensland.

Delivered by the Logan City Council Office of Economic Development and Gov Ready, and supported by the ActivUs Alliance (CPB Contractors , UGL, ACCIONA , SMEC and WSP), alongside Transport and Main Roads Queensland and Queensland Rail, the program provided practical insights into every stage of major project delivery.

Over three workshops, participants gained valuable knowledge in procurement, pricing, commercial risk, contract delivery and reporting requirements, helping position them to seize opportunities on major infrastructure projects, including the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail project, being delivered by ActivUs Alliance, and the broader pipeline supporting the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Congratulations to all participating businesses. We’re proud to support initiatives that create opportunities for local industry, strengthen regional supply chains and leave a lasting legacy in the communities where we work.
