We’re proud to recognise National Reconciliation Week 2026 and this year’s theme, All In.

It’s a reminder that reconciliation takes all of us – through the way we work, connect and support one another every day.

At CPB Contractors, we’re committed to creating opportunities and building strong partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

This week, we were pleased to host representatives from the Clontarf Foundation, sharing stories and insights that reflect the importance of working together to create meaningful outcomes.

A connected project on Sydney Metro West - Eastern Tunnelling Package (ETP). 🤜🤛

Delivered in joint venture with John Holland and Ghella, constructing TBM tunnels beneath Sydney Harbour and excavating Pyrmont and Hunter Street stations.

All ETP sites are now fully connected following a complex adit breakthrough at Hunter Street West shaft. This marks the shift from excavation to permanent structure.

Progress deep below the city includes:

🔩 Station cavern form having started the first arch crown pours
🧱 Lining works continuing through 380m of turnback tunnels beneath The Domain
♻️ Bulk excavation at Hunter Street East and low‑carbon concrete backfilling of temporary access tunnels
🏗️ First fully concreted arches in the 148m Pyrmont crossover cavern
⚙️ Cross passages complete from The Bays to Hunter Street and tunnel boring machines demobilised at Hunter Street.

Careful planning. Tight sequencing. Extraordinary teamwork.

Proud to support work that’s changing lives 💜

Last week, CPB Contractors attended and sponsored The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation’s Jacaranda Gala, celebrating 40 years of impact across research, care and community health.

The evening also recognised the important work of the foundation's Tradie Health Institute initiative, whose research is helping improve outcomes for workers impacted by occupational lung diseases such as silicosis.

We’re proud to support initiatives helping create healthier futures for the people who build our communities every day.

Congratulations to The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation on an incredible 40 years 👏

🎉 Congratulations to our Warringah Freeway Upgrade project team on marking a major milestone this month with a historic permanent traffic change for southbound journeys.

Following years of planning, extensive trials, and countless night shifts, the new access arrangements to the Sydney Harbour Tunnel and Sydney Harbour Bridge were successfully implemented on Saturday 2 May.

In its first week, the change was deemed a success. With around 250,000 vehicles using the network daily, motorists have adapted well, responding to clearer signage, making earlier route decisions, and benefiting from safer journeys and reduced travel times for 🚌 bus passengers.🚦

This significant switch brought the total number of traffic changes across the project to approximately 282, with about another 18 to go before the end of the year.🛣️

Since commencing in March 2022, this mammoth undertaking has been likened to “open heart surgery while running a marathon” on one of Australia’s busiest roads. It’s a testament to the dedication of our project team, who have worked tirelessly, often through nights and weekends, to deliver this complex transformation safely.👏

A massive journey. A major milestone. 🚚⚡

After travelling 8,000 km, the first large transformer has arrived safely at HumeLink West’s Maragle Substation. This delivery is one of the most complex logistics moves on the project so far:

🏗️ 125 tonnes of critical infrastructure
🏠 The size of a small house — 10m long, 6m high
🌏 Shipped from South Korea to Australia
🚛 Hauled from Port Kembla on a 14‑axle trailer, powered by three prime movers

This is the first of 15 transformers required for HumeLink West, with 9 destined for Maragle. A true feat of planning, safety, traffic management and coordination — and a big step forward in powering Australia’s energy future.

CPB Contractors is proudly delivering the transformational HumeLink West project with fellow CIMIC Group company, UGL. 💪

Waikeria Prison Redevelopment Stage 1 project received the Gold Award in the Civic, Health & Arts Property category at the Master Builders Association’s 2026 New Zealand Commercial Project Awards on Friday night. 🎉👏

In what represents a new model for rehabilitation and safety, the development is New Zealand’s first purpose-built facility to integrate a 500-bed high-security prison plus a 96-bed Mental Health and Addiction Service. With 28 new buildings across 27-hectares, the site features more whānau interaction spaces than any other New Zealand prison, fostering connection.

Our work included employing 87 prisoners to help them gain valuable skills, qualifications, and confidence to support community reintegration.

What a night! Congratulations to our team behind the Cannington and Oats Street Station Projects, awarded the Institute of Building WA Professional Excellence in Building accolade in the Commercial Construction over $60 million category.🏆👏

Delivered as part of a major metropolitan rail transformation, these projects have transformed the inner Armadale Line, a pivotal component of Western Australia’s METRONET Victoria Park–Canning Level Crossing Removal Program.

The redevelopment has delivered complex, multi‑storey transport infrastructure incorporating elevated platforms, passenger concourses, vertical transport systems and fully integrated building services. These stations now operate as significant public assets, bringing together architectural design, structural engineering, accessibility compliance and operational rail infrastructure.

This recognition demonstrates the value of strong collaboration between client, contractor, designers and the broader project team, supported by disciplined project management and a consistent focus on quality across all stages of delivery.

We’re also proud to celebrate Shane Young🎖️on winning the Building Professional of the Year Award - a testament to his leadership, expertise and contribution to the successful delivery of projects like these.

Today, they operate as fully integrated transport facilities serving thousands of daily commuters and supporting long‑term community outcomes.

A well‑deserved recognition for everyone involved! 🎉👏
