Designing interiors for a living comes with a certain ease...designing your own home is very different!

One of the hardest moments was deciding to remove a lemon tree that had stood here for over 50 years. It wasn’t salvageable, and letting it go was emotional, but it allowed the space to evolve.

A pool was always a necessity, even though space was limited. Those constraints shaped every decision that followed.

We engaged Louie from , working with , and it only took one design for us to know it was right. Carrying the same tile tones from the interior through to the outdoor paving helped create a sense of flow, and avoiding a glass pool fence kept the space practical and low‑maintenance.

A space shaped by considered decisions and one we now love spending time in.

This table brought everything together in a different way... bold, confident, and full of personality!

When it came time to choose our dining table, we debated staying neutral or taking a risk. In the end, we went bold! And we couldn’t be happier with the decision.

Designed by in the colour Kalamata, the table adds depth and richness to the kitchen and dining space. The tone complements the red‑rust hues within the Austral Dream stone, while still standing confidently in its own right.

A reminder that sometimes leaning into colour and trusting your instinct, is what makes a space feel alive.

It’s certainly been a favourite for our visitors, and one of our most loved pieces in the home

Next up, the kitchen... and one of its features.

The integrated cooktop burners set directly into the stone create an elegant and uninterrupted surface.

The stone, Austral Dream Versace , sourced from the Pilbara, was actually the first material chosen for the home. Its unique movement and earthy colour palette became the foundation for the materials and tones used throughout the entire project.

A huge thank you to Simon and the team at their exceptional craftsmanship and seamless installation. The detail and ex*****on truly brings this feature to life.

First up... the artwork

Ironically, it was the very last piece of the puzzle.

We live in a small pocket of West Perth affectionately known as , a creative hub, home to galleries, studios and a strong arts community, so it felt only natural to look locally when searching for the perfect piece.

We turned to our friends at Linton & Kay, knowing they would help us find artwork that would both complement and elevate the soft, muted tones of our bedroom. The aim was simple... to create a calm, grounding space to retreat to at the end of the day.

This piece brought everything together, adding depth, texture and a quiet sense of ease. A gentle reminder that sometimes it’s the final layer that completes the story.

And finally, a nod to the artist ... absolutely beautiful work! Her latest collection is on display at the Linton & Kay Subiaco gallery until 6 April, well worth a visit if you’re nearby.

Stunning his and hers basins, a huge freestanding bath, textured walls and matching tapware. We love how both bathrooms have their own look, yet perfectly complement one another.

Our clients beautiful home was built in 2006 and the family/guest bathroom was in need of makeover. Such a spacious bathroom to work with.
