A big congratulations to our Maintenance Supervisor, Craig Hocking, who has recently achieved his S26 Statutory Supervisor qualification 👏

Craig joined Buru in March 2025 and has become a huge part of the team, supporting our fleet and logistics operations and managing maintenance requirements across the fleet on our Newman project.

Anyone working alongside Craig knows how much knowledge, effort and support he brings to the job, so it is great to see him add another qualification to the list.

Well done Craig. Very well deserved!

A few new arrivals have landed at our Newman project 👀

As our scope of works on site continues to grow, so does the equipment supporting our team.

We’ve welcomed new machines to the Buru fleet and we’re not finished yet!

Two new D9 dozers will be arriving on site shortly, ready to join the crew and get red-dust dirty 🙌

Six months ago, Jesse “JDD” Drummond Davy was brand new to the industry. Now he has his HR, skid steer, front-end loader, water cart and tip truck qualifications under his belt, with vac truck next 👏

Jesse has thrown himself into learning since joining our Port Operations crew and has quickly become a valued part of the team.

Buru Rehab is looking for an experienced Maintenance and Logistics Coordinator to join our team in Rockingham, WA.

This is a key role supporting the maintenance and logistics behind our civils and earthworks operations, working closely with our Operations Manager and project teams across WA.

We’re looking for someone with strong experience in maintenance coordination or logistics, ideally within civils or earthworks, who understands heavy equipment and enjoys solving problems, coordinating moving parts and working across a busy operational environment.

You’ll be joining a growing Aboriginal business with ongoing training and development, flexible work arrangements, a modern Rockingham office and plenty of opportunity to grow with the business.

The role is Rockingham-based, with periodic travel to the Pilbara, Kimberley and other Buru Rehab projects.

Buru Rehab has recently been featured in the National Indigenous Times, The West Australian and Business News, recognising the growing role of Indigenous businesses in rehabilitation projects across Western Australia 👏🏾

Business News reported that Buru Rehab holds six of the 16 rehabilitation projects awarded to Indigenous businesses, representing the largest share by project count and the second-largest share by value.

This recognition reflects the capability Buru continues to build across its projects, the strength of the team delivering the work and the opportunities being created for Indigenous businesses and workers across the rehabilitation sector.

We are proud to be helping demonstrate the capability, value and lasting impact Indigenous businesses can bring to rehabilitation projects across WA.

Following the recent start of the 2026 rehabilitation campaign at Ellendale, Buru Rehab Director, Ben Latimore, was invited to speak at the Derby Kimberley Economic Forum in partnership with the Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration.

Ben shared how Buru’s Indigenous Engagement and Indigenous Trainee Program is being delivered at Ellendale, including the pathways being created for trainees and the partnerships supporting the work on site.

He also reflected on the recent Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony held with Bunuba and DMPE, and the importance of beginning the campaign with a strong cultural foundation.

The forum provided an opportunity to take the Ellendale story beyond the project itself and contribute to a broader conversation about what meaningful Indigenous engagement can look like in rehabilitation.

Thank you to DMPE and the Derby Kimberley Economic Forum for inviting Buru Rehab to be part of the discussion.

More than 18 months of rehabilitation earthworks at BHP Newman has given our team the opportunity to demonstrate what consistent, site-based delivery looks like.

Led by Project Manager Jane O’Neill, the team has continued to build strong project knowledge and deliver reliable rehabilitation works since January 2025.

That delivery has also been supported through collaboration with local Indigenous business Katu Mungat, who has provided fitter services to the project.

With new equipment recently added to the fleet, Buru Rehab is continuing to invest in the people, partnerships and capability needed to support quality rehabilitation earthworks at Newman into the future.

We are proud of what the team has achieved and the strong foundations they continue to build on site.

A new season is underway at Buru’s Ellendale rehabilitation project.

With six trainees stepping into their first roles on site, the team marked the beginning of the season with a smoking ceremony held in June, alongside a number of cultural activities.

This is an important project for our team and one that brings together rehabilitation work, local opportunity and working on Country with respect.

We look forward to sharing more from Ellendale in the weeks ahead ❤️💛🖤

We’re growing the Buru Rehab team and have two great opportunities now open across the Kimberley and Pilbara.

We’re looking for a Heavy Mobile Plant Trainer & Assessor to join our Ellendale Rehabilitation Project, supporting our operators and helping guide the next group of Aboriginal trainees as they begin their careers on site.

We’re also looking for an experienced HD Fitter to join our Pilbara team and help keep our heavy mobile plant fleet running safely and reliably.
