Some Sunshine Coast homes skip wall wrap… do you?

In our warm, humid weather, what sits behind your walls matters more than most people realise.

Without that extra layer, a home can be more exposed to wind-driven rain, humidity, and unwanted air movement. Over time, that can affect how comfortable the home feels, and how well it holds up.

A properly installed wall wrap helps protect the structure from the start. It helps manage moisture, supports a drier home, and gives you more control over how the house feels day to day, which really matters in places like Maroochydore or Caloundra.

Build it right the first time. Protect what matters.

New YouTube episode out now!🔥

Everyone knows homes need insulation.

But here’s the surprise, insulation can be installed the “usual” way and you can still end up with rooms that feel too hot, too cold, or just never quite comfortable.

In this episode, Simon takes you behind the walls of our Curlewis build and walks through a few things most people don’t get told, including:
✔️ common insulation mistakes we see all the time
✔️ why some parts of a frame can pull heat in or out faster than others
✔️ how small gaps can change how a home feels day to day
✔️ why the quality of the install matters as much as the product
✔️ the simple details that help a home feel healthier and more comfortable

If you’re building on the Sunshine Coast, this is one of those topics that can save you a lot of frustration later, because comfort starts long before the paint and tiles.

On the Sunshine Coast, a roof isn’t just the “top layer”… it’s a whole system that helps your home handle heat, rain, and humidity.

Most people only ever see the outside.
But the real work happens underneath.

There are layers that support the structure, help manage moisture, allow airflow, and protect everything below. When they’re planned to work together, your roof is better set up for the conditions we get here, the sudden downpours, sticky humidity, and salty air.

It’s not just about keeping the weather out.
It’s about how the roof handles it over time.

Build it right the first time. Protect what matters.

What makes californian corners so special in Your home?

Californian corners, explained (the little thing that makes a big difference) 🏡✨

You know those spots in a house that always feel a bit… off?
That random cold corner you keep avoiding 😅

Corners are usually where that happens.

A lot of builds cram the corner full of timber…
and then there’s barely any room left for insulation.
So that corner ends up feeling cooler, no matter what you do.

We use Californian corners so the insulation can actually go where it’s meant to.
And when it does… the whole room just feels more even.
No weird cold patches. No “why is it freezing right here?” moments.

It’s one of those behind-the-scenes choices you’ll never see…
but you’ll feel it every day.

Curious how other small details make your home feel smarter and more comfortable?

On the Sunshine Coast, you should be able to move between inside and outside without even thinking about it.

But one of the most common frustrations we see is when the outdoor area feels… separate.
Like it’s there, but it doesn’t naturally get used.

In this home, the main living space opens straight out to the outdoor area through a wide opening, so the dining and living zones can spill outside without effort. It makes everyday life feel simpler, whether you’re relaxing, having people over, or just opening everything up for a bit of fresh air.

Upstairs keeps that same easy, open feel. The shared spaces feel light-filled and connected, but you still get privacy where you need it.

Because for a lot of homes on the Sunshine Coast, it’s not about adding more space.
It’s about making the space you already have work better together.

When indoor and outdoor areas connect properly, the whole home just feels easier to live in.

Follow the circle… then watch Curlewis come to life 🛠️🏡

Here’s a quick look at this build in motion, where each stage starts to connect and the home begins to take shape right in front of you.

This is the point where it stops feeling like “just a site”… and starts feeling real.

We’ll keep sharing the progress as this project moves forward, step by step.

Outdoor areas usually don’t get “wasted” because people don’t want them.

They get wasted because they’re awkward to use.

No shelter. No shade. Weird flow. It feels separate from the house, so it slowly turns into the place you only step into when you have to.

And on the Sunshine Coast, that’s such a shame. Outdoor living should feel easy.

At Sittela, the outdoor space connects naturally with the inside, so it actually becomes part of everyday life. The layout makes sense, the shading is considered, and the whole area feels comfortable at different times of day.

So you use it.
Morning coffee. Kids outside. Friends over. Dinner that drifts into a long chat.

That’s the goal, an outdoor space you don’t have to “plan” to enjoy.

Always on holiday… without ever leaving home.

Gas vs electric on the Sunshine Coast… which one actually makes sense for your home?

With our warm, humid weather and plenty of sunshine most of the year, how you power your home can make a bigger difference than people expect, both for comfort and running costs.

For a lot of families building on the Sunshine Coast, going fully electric just makes life simpler, especially if you’re planning solar. You can make better use of the energy you generate and rely less on the grid.

It can also change the day-to-day feel of the home. Cleaner indoor air, fewer fumes inside, and systems that suit the way we live here.

If you’re planning a new home on the Sunshine Coast, it’s worth thinking about power choices early, right alongside your layout and finishes.

Because it’s not just about energy. It’s about how your home feels to live in, all year round.

Natural light can completely change how a home feels, especially on the Sunshine Coast.

In this space, the windows don’t just frame the view. They pull daylight right into the kitchen and living area, so the whole home feels brighter, softer, and more open as the day goes on.

You don’t feel like you’re living under ceiling lights all day. The room shifts naturally with the light outside. Mornings feel calm and fresh, and that connection to outdoors gives the main living zones a really easy, open feel.

It’s a good reminder that windows aren’t just about what you see out of them. They shape how you feel inside, the mood, the warmth, and the sense of space.

When you design with light in mind, you notice it the moment you walk in.
