Today we were honoured to welcome Sheryl Lutz, Head of Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG), to christen the second vessel in Ocius' fleet of 40 Bluebottles being delivered to the Royal Australian Navy.

Seeing this program continue to progress is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and collaboration of the Ocius and Defence teams. Exciting times ahead as we continue supporting Australia's sovereign defence capability through innovative autonomous maritime technology.

It was our pleasure to host Nikolaos Dendias, Greek Minister of National Defence, at Ocius.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity to showcase how Ocius is advancing maritime domain awareness through innovative autonomous technologies. We appreciated the opportunity to discuss the evolving challenges and opportunities across the maritime security landscape and the role that persistent, sustainable surveillance can play in supporting allied nations.

We had the pleasure of welcoming the Honourable David Connolly, Administrator of the Northern Territory, and his wife Susan to Ocius in Sydney for a tour of our facilities.

It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our innovative work and discuss the future of Bluebottle USV in protecting Australia’s boarders. We were delighted to share insights into our operations and highlight how we continue to support sovereign capability, technological advancement and growth in the Northern Territory.

We were pleased to welcome Mr Adam Korzeniewski, AUKUS Liaison, U.S. Department of State, and Ms. Sarah Borgardt, Assistant Advisor, AUKUS Liason, U.S. Department of State, to the Ocius facility in Sydney, together with colleagues from the US Department of State in Australia.

It was a terrific opportunity to showcase the Ocius Bluebottle and our existing work supporting the US Navy, US Coast Guard and the US Department of War.

It was an engaging discussion about Ocius’ current operations and AUKUS pillar 2 collaboration.

It was a pleasure to host the Defence Attaché to Australia for the Armada de Chile / Chilean Navy, Captain Carlos Rodrigo Ruiz Qui Quiñones.

We spoke about our shared challenges managing large and complex Exclusive Economic Zones. And we looked at how the Ocius Bluebottle USV can provide persistent maritime domain awareness at scale, augmenting the role of crewed platforms.

OCIUS is home to many passionate sailors, and today we’re proud to share that Cole Tapper and George Richardson have just won the World Match Racing Tour’s Congressional Cup in Long Beach, California - an incredible achievement.

The Congressional Cup is the longest‑running match racing event in the world, a prestigious World Sailing Grade 1 regatta with a winners list that includes legends like America’s Cup champions Dennis Conner and New Zealand’s Dean Barker.

Cole (skipper) and George (main trimmer) delivered a phenomenal performance, coming back from 0–2 down in a first‑to‑3 semi-final to defeat the current world number one in a nail‑biting 3–2 finish. They then carried that momentum into the final, taking down last year’s champion and reigning Crimson Blazer holder, Eric Monnin, to claim their first Congressional Cup title.

It is exciting to be in Kuala Lumpur for Defence Services Asia 2026. The Ocius team is on the ground, showcasing how the Bluebottle USV can deliver wide-area maritime domain awareness for Malaysia and other partners in the region.

It was a particular honour to receive a visit from the Crown Prince and Crown Princess of Kedah.
