NOW HIRING – AIRBNB CLEANER / PROPERTY CARETAKER
Location: Paluma, Queensland
We are seeking a reliable, self-motivated and detail-oriented Cleaner / Property Caretaker to look after our short-term accommodation property in Paluma, QLD.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining clean, comfortable and welcoming accommodation and understands the importance of providing guests with a great experience.
The property consists of one house accommodating up to 7 guests and two self-contained units, each accommodating up to 4 guests. Each house and unit has its own kitchenette, dining and living facilities, as well as bathroom facilities.
About the Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the accommodation is clean, well-maintained and ready for guests before each booking, as well as being available to assist with guest issues that may arise.
This is a flexible, booking-based role requiring availability on guest check-in and check-out days, including potential weekends and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning and Changeovers
• Attend the property on the morning of guest check-in to ensure the accommodation is clean, presentable and ready for arrival.
• Return following guest check-out to complete a full clean and prepare the accommodation for the next booking.
• Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchenettes, dining areas and living spaces within the house and both units.
• Change bed linen, make beds and replace towels and other guest amenities as required.
• Clean barbecue equipment and surrounding areas after guest use.
• Check the property for damage, missing items, maintenance issues and anything requiring attention.
• Restock essential supplies and report when items need replenishing.
• Ensure outdoor areas and general facilities are tidy and presentable.
Property Caretaking and Guest Support
• Conduct basic property checks to ensure everything is functioning correctly and ready for guests.
• Report maintenance concerns, damage or other issues promptly.
• Act as the after-hours contact for guest emergencies and urgent property-related issues.
• Respond to guest concerns professionally and arrange assistance when required.
• Assist with practical issues such as access difficulties or minor property concerns, escalating more serious matters to the property owner or manager.
Booking Schedule and Availability
Guest bookings, including check-in and check-out dates and required attendance times, will be communicated via Microsoft Outlook calendar meeting requests. You will be required to review and accept the relevant meeting requests to confirm your availability for each booking.
It is important that the successful applicant regularly checks their Outlook calendar, responds to meeting requests promptly and communicates any availability issues as early as possible to ensure the property is prepared for incoming guests.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
• Previous cleaning, housekeeping or accommodation experience (preferred, but not essential).
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
• Good communication skills and a friendly, professional approach to guest enquiries.
• The ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Reliability and flexibility to attend the property around booking and checkout times.
• Availability for after-hours emergency contact and the ability to respond appropriately when issues arise.
• A proactive approach to identifying and reporting maintenance issues.
• Reliable transport to and from Paluma.
