As part of a major network upgrade to improve reliability on the Roma-Injune line, there will be a planned outage from approximately 8am-3pm on Sunday 21 June.

If you are going to be affected, you'll receive a notice in the mail with the outage ID: 26SW6840.

Please drive carefully if you are travelling on the Gillies Range Road in Atherton today near the aerodrome, as a vehicle has severely damaged a power pole. The good news is we don't expect any customers in the area to lose power as we do these repairs. The not-so-good news is that it will take most of the day, and we will have to close the road at times for safety. ⚡𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗚𝗢𝗥𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗩𝗔𝗟𝗘, 𝗬𝗔𝗥𝗥𝗔𝗕𝗔𝗛 & 𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗦⚡
9.45PM UPDATE - Crews have successfully restored supply to almost half the customers affected. The initial issue being a wire burnt off on top of this pole in the picture. Not an easy fault to find in the dark unless our crews undertake the painstaking task of fully inspecting each individual pole on the affected section of the network. Crews are now looking to identify a secondary fault on the network.

Unfortunately the fault finding is taking longer than expected due to the high voltage powerlines crossing through off-road areas, which are very difficult to access in the dark.

Our crews thank you for your ongoing patience.

EARLIER: Ergon Energy is aware of an outage currently affecting around 5,000 customers in and around Gordonvale and also in Yarrabah.

Our local crews are currently patrolling the network to locate the cause of the outage.

🚛🚚 We 🫶 the Convoy For The Cure and this year's was the biggest yet!

A massive thank you to our Townsville crews and their families for being the driving force behind our involvement in this annual event to raise funds towards research into paediatric brain cancer.

No doubt it's a long and rocky road for those touched by the disease, but it's uplifting to see the level of community support for their cause.

Our Bundaberg crews have a lot of work ahead of them to repair the section of network that supplies Elliott Heads after a large fig tree being removed came down and dragged five spans of powerline with it.
They're hoping to have everything back how it should by early this evening.
