Last Thursday, in our 40th Anniversary year, North hosted our third Women in Construction Regional Roadshow on the Central Coast at Gosford RSL Club — and what a day it was 💛🔨

Over 130 young women from 18 schools across the Central Coast and Lake Macquarie came together to explore what a career in construction really looks like — and to see firsthand that they can be what they can see.

The students heard from an incredible panel featuring Taya-Rose Leete and Bella Keft from North, Zoe Ifield from Belmadar, and Lucinda Shilcock from TAFE NSW. They took part in speed mentoring, a hands-on birdbox build with CTQ Construction, booth explorations, and even a Meet & Greet with the Central Coast Mariners A-League Women's players Annie Grove and Baxter Thew.

A massive thank you to:
Our Partners — Apprenticeship Support Australia, Central Coast Group Training, CTQ Construction, University of Newcastle, TAFE NSW, NSW Department of Education, Master Builders Association, Training Services NSW & the Central Coast Mariners; Our 18 Schools & Careers Advisers — for getting your students there and supporting the day; Gosford RSL Club — for hosting us in the venue North built; NSW Department of Education RIEP — Jill Giuliani & Jenney-Lee Pye; The North Team — 17 staff who volunteered their time as mentors, organisers, panellists, and role models.

Getting more women into construction is a win-win — for the industry, for the economy, and for women. Events like this are how we open the door. PROJECT COMPLETION - DUBBO BAPTIST CHURCH

We're proud to share the completed Dubbo Baptist Church Alterations and Additions at 251 Cobra Street, Dubbo.

North was engaged by the Dubbo Baptist Church to deliver this $2.4M sensitive expansion and refurbishment of an existing place of worship — enhancing functionality, accessibility, and community engagement, while maintaining uninterrupted church operations throughout construction.

The scope included an extension to the existing Sanctuary delivering a new Storeroom, Breakout Room and Multi-purpose Youth and Children's Hall, along with extensions to the verandah and external pathways. Further works incorporated a new Stage and Storeroom within the Sanctuary, an extension to the existing carpark, and reconfiguration of parking to provide compliant accessible bays and shared-use spaces.

Delivered as a "Construct Only" project over 69 weeks, the project required detailed planning and disciplined sequencing to ensure business and community continuity for the church throughout every stage of construction.

A huge thank you to our client Dubbo Baptist Church, our project partner Stanton Dahl Architects, and all the dedicated subcontractors and trade partners who contributed to this outstanding result.

Congratulations to our project team, led by Senior Project Manager Mick Cardile, supported by Project Engineer Nick Millar, for delivering another quality project in regional NSW.

PROJECT COMPLETE — New Dubbo pathology laboratory completed.

We're thrilled to share major upgrades have been completed at NSW Health Pathology’s laboratory at Dubbo Health Service. North was engaged by NSW Health Pathology to deliver this $8.2 million refurbishment of Block M — transforming an older hospital building into a state-of-the-art pathology facility for Western NSW Local Health District. Works included demolition, contamination remediation, new structural steel and plant deck, full new building services, specialist joinery, and the relocation of critical pathology equipment — all while the hospital and the pathology laboratory remained live and operational.

A huge thank you to our client NSW Health Pathology and Senior Operations Manager Ben Alchin for their support and trust throughout the project.
Congratulations to our project team, led by Senior Project Manager Mick Cardile, Project Engineer Nick Millar, and to every subcontractor and trade partner who contributed to this outstanding result.

We’re excited to be supporting the launch of the Northern Central Coast Max Potential program.

It was great to see coaches come together for the first session, diving into leadership, purpose, and how to positively support young people in our community - all with plenty of energy and connection.

Looking forward to seeing the journey unfold over the months ahead.

We’ve officially kicked off the Northern Central Coast Max Potential program — and what a way to start!

Our coaches jumped straight into it, exploring coaching skills, leadership, purpose, goals, presence, and what it really means to show up for young people. There was so much energy, lots of great conversations, and plenty of laughs along the way.

Big shoutout to our founding partner north_construction and to Mingara Recreation Club for hosting us and backing young people and leaders in our community.

Thanks as well to The Ary Toukley and The Doylo for jumping on board and supporting participant scholarships.

Can’t wait to see these coaches grow, connect, and make a real difference over the months ahead.

Great people. Great energy. Great start.

At North, safety isn’t just a priority – it’s a shared responsibility.

Last week North celebrated World Day for Safety and Health at Work, where we are reminded that every injury, illness, and incident is preventable. Creating safe and healthy workplaces takes commitment from everyone, every day.
At North, safety is a shared responsibility!

Safety is about:
• Complying with WHS legislation requirements
• Following procedures and implementing safe work practices
• Immediately reporting hazards and near misses to keep others safe
• Looking out for one another to make sure everyone gets home safe and healthy

Let’s continue to make safety part of how we work – today and every day at North.

Securing a seat at the table is one thing; leading your way once you're there is another. Last Thursday, nine of our female Northies joined the BoostHER – Lead Like You workshop, expertly facilitated by Suzy Miller. This session provided a high-impact platform to connect with local network of like-minded professionals.

The workshop challenged the "one-size-fits-all" leadership archetype, instead focusing on the strategic power of leading with confidence and individuality. A highlight was the panel discussion featuring Nicole Redmond, North's Executive Director & Head of People, Culture & Corporate Services, alongside Suzy Miller, Gail Cottrill and co-facilitator Kim Lenox. Their honest reflections on leadership journeys reinforced that true strength often comes from owning your unique value.

These opportunities in professional development are vital to our collective success. Thank you to Suzy Miller and the entire panel for such an important and impactful session.
