Yallourn Mine Alliance - March 2026 Safety Award

As part of the Yallourn Mine Alliance Safety Initiatives Program, workers at Yallourn Mine are recognised for practical safety initiatives that strengthen safe work practices across the operation 🦺✅.

As part of this program, recipients also nominate a local volunteer organisation to receive the $500 Safety Award donation 💰, reinforcing our shared commitment to workplace safety and community support 🤝.

The crew has nominated Yarragon Lions Club 🦁 to receive the $500 donation. The Lions Club conduct local community fundraising for special causes 🎗️, development and building of local parks 🌳, community venues 🏫, and sporting centres 🏟️, in addition to supporting emergencies and natural disasters throughout Australia and overseas 🌏🚨.

🎉 Congratulations to the Fire Services crew as recipients of the March 2026 Safety Award.

The crew have suggested building (or modifying) a designated flat deck trailer 🚚 for the purpose of holding four pallets utilised during the decommissioning of conveyers to hold components and parts.

This is a strong example of reducing the risk of manual handling 💡⬇️ and dedication to continuous improvement in work processes 🔧📈.

We’re pleased to welcome Donna Moore to RTL as our new Health and Wellbeing Advisor.

Donna brings over 15 years’ experience in workers compensation, injury management and organisational wellbeing. She has led the design and delivery of organisation-wide health and wellbeing initiatives, including psychosocial risk management, injury triage and employee wellbeing programs.

Donna is passionate about creating safe, healthy and supportive workplaces, and her expertise in policy, compliance and stakeholder engagement will help strengthen RTL’s approach to health, safety and wellbeing.

As part of the Yallourn Mine Alliance Safety Initiatives Program, we’re proud to recognise employees who deliver practical initiatives that strengthen safe work practices across the operation 🚧✅

🎉 Congratulations to YMA C Crew for their proactive safety improvement at the D11 washdown areas. The team identified and implemented the use of Y‑pieces to better manage water flow 💦 a simple yet highly effective solution that reduces unnecessary exposure to water during washdown activities.

💡 This initiative is a great example of frontline innovation, improving working conditions, reducing exposure risks, and reinforcing our commitment to continuous safety improvement.

🏆 As recipients of the $500 Safety Award, the crew also had the opportunity to nominate a local volunteer organisation to receive the donation, they chose Better Mental 🧠💚

Better Mental supports community wellbeing by providing therapeutic services and education programs that improve mental health outcomes and strengthen individuals and communities.
