👏 Congratulations to the YMA Mine Maintenance Team, recipients of the May 2026 YMA Safety Award.

As part of the YMA Safety Initiatives Program, employees are recognised for practical ideas that strengthen safe work practices across the operation.

During routine conveyor maintenance, the team identified and implemented additional secondary safety measures for the take-up winch system, further enhancing existing controls and reducing risk. A great example of proactive safety, continuous improvement, and commitment to looking after one another.

As part of the award, the team nominated Foodbank Community Food Centre Morwell to receive the $500 Safety Award donation. The Centre plays a vital role in supporting the Gippsland community through food relief services, community programs, and the distribution of emergency food supplies to local charities and disaster relief agencies.

Well done to the YMA Mine Maintenance Team for demonstrating leadership in safety, practical problem solving, and a strong commitment to supporting the local community. 👏

🚧 Progress at Loy Yang! 🚧

Our team is currently constructing a maintenance pad at the AGL Loy Yang site in preparation for the upcoming major outage. This pad will provide a stable, durable, and safe work area to support critical maintenance activities and ensure the project is set up for success.

A big congratulations to the crew for their commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency. Their hard work and dedication are delivering excellent results while keeping the project moving forward safely.

Building Stronger Leaders at YMA Mine ⛏️👏

From 23–25 June 2026, RTL employees working at our YMA Mine participated in the G189 (formerly S123) & G2 Supervisor Training, delivered through Queensland Training and Development in partnership with Thiess.

The nationally recognised G189 Mining Supervisor Course is an essential step for employees aspiring to move into supervisory roles within the mining industry.

The program provides the knowledge and practical skills required to confidently lead teams, manage workplace risks, ensure legislative compliance, and promote a strong safety culture.

Over the three-day course, participants strengthened their capabilities in:
✅ Leadership and team supervision
✅ Effective workplace communication
✅ Hazard identification and risk control
✅ Safety and legislative compliance
✅ Creating safe, productive, and efficient work environments

A big congratulations to all participants for their engagement and commitment to professional development. We look forward to seeing these skills applied in the workplace as the next generation of mining supervisors continues to grow.
