Details for Wednesday’s funeral procession for OPP Sergeant Brandon Malcolm in Cobourg are outlined below.

Beginning at approximately 9:00 a.m., members from the OPP and other attending services will begin marching from Kerr Street, north on D’Arcy Street, to the Cobourg Community Centre. Officers will position along D’Arcy Street to honour the funeral cortege as it passes by.

Members of the public are invited to observe the procession as it makes its way around the Cobourg Community Centre. Those wishing to watch in person may gather on the sidewalk along the west side of D’Arcy Street. This area will be designated for pedestrian access only.

While the service will not be open for in person attendance, members of the public can watch the funeral via livestream on the OPP’s YouTube page:

NOTICE OF ROAD CLOSURE and NO ACCESS to VOUT STORAGE
Wednesday, May 6th, 7am-3pm

On Wednesday, May 6, 2026 a private funeral service for OPP Sergeant Brandon Malcolm is taking place at the Cobourg Community Centre. There will be rolling road closures and traffic delays on Wednesday, May 6, from approximately 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on D’Arcy Street, Division Street and surrounding roads. We have been informed that the intersection of D'Arcy Street, Kerr Street, and McArthur Street will be completely closed during this time, meaning that access to Vout Welding and Vout Storage yard and units will be CLOSED 7am-3pm on Wednesday, May 6th. We are in full respect and cooperation with the OPP as the community mourns the loss of Sergeant Brandon Malcom. Thank you to OPP Members and all First Responders for their daily efforts protect our community. For all who wish to join us in honouring Sergeant Malcolm’s life, details on a live stream of the funeral service will be made available closer to the service date. Expressions of condolence may be shared at opp.ca/news.
