The walls are closing in and the finishes are starting to go down at Project Newman.

Drywall is going up while tile installation is underway, which means we’re officially entering the stage where all that behind-the-walls work starts turning into spaces you can actually visualize.

It’s easy to focus on the finished reveal, but getting to this point takes careful sequencing, from framing and rough-ins to drywall prep and tile installation.

Some of the most important renovation decisions happen before anyone picks up a hammer.

Where the furniture will sit. What needs power. How much storage you actually need. Where you’re willing to invest. How your family moves through the house every day.

These details might not be the exciting part of planning a renovation, but they’re often what separates a home that simply looks beautiful from one that genuinely works better.

Project Eaton is getting to the good part.

Kitchen cabinetry is going in, door frames are being installed, and the details that define each space are starting to take shape.

This stage of a renovation is always an exciting one. After weeks of work behind the walls, you can finally start to see the layout, finishes, and design decisions come together in a way that feels like a home again.

If 2026 design is telling us anything, it’s that homes are allowed to have personality again.

We’re seeing more warmth, natural materials, architectural details, thoughtful storage, interesting shapes, and spaces designed around real life, not just what photographs well. And we’re here for it.

Because timeless doesn’t have to mean boring, and functional definitely doesn’t have to mean basic.

What started with excavation and site prep now has a foundation in place and framing going up. The new garage is officially taking shape, and this is the stage where you can really start to see the plans come to life.

A bigger budget doesn’t automatically create a better kitchen.

The goal isn’t to spend more, it’s to spend smarter.

There are areas that affect how your kitchen functions every day, and others that can be updated over time without sacrificing the overall design.

If we’re helping clients prioritize, we’re almost always investing in the pieces that improve daily life first, then finding opportunities to be strategic with the finishes that are easier to change down the road.

Every project is different, but thoughtful budgeting almost always leads to a better result than simply choosing the most expensive option.
