Leeswood and IKEA have exciting plans to expand the IKEA Richmond location!

Currently under construction and slated to open in 2027, the Richmond expansion will add more than 160,000 Sq. Ft. of space to increase fulfilment capacity, provide an improved shopping experience, and deliver goods more efficiently to customers throughout BC while reducing the environmental impact.

The Richmond expansion will feature:
• an electric vehicle (EV) delivery fleet to lower transportation emissions;
• a new Click & Collect offering for more efficient pick-ups;
• energy-efficient systems, including heat recovery;
• a high-performance building envelope to reduce energy use; and
• tracking of materials and construction waste
• to target LEED Gold certification upon completion

Last week, Leeswood competed in the CREDA Greater Toronto Chapter Annual Beach Volleyball Tournament at the Polson Pier. 🏐

A great afternoon to step away from the office, spend time with colleagues, network with peers across the commercial real estate and development industry, all while enjoying some friendly competition!

Although it wasn't the result we strived for, we're already looking forward to next year's battle!

With Leeswood already completing the first Mass Timber industrial building in North America for Prologis Evergreen on Highway 50 in Brampton, we are hoping to be a part of a greener future.
