Truck Dispatcher – Full Time Seasonal
Responsibilities:
- Daily dispatch of all trucks. (company and private)
- Organize trucks for jobs as required.
- Ensure drivers are provided with the appropriate documentation/customer information/directions/special instructions.
- Receive and respond to calls, text messages and emails from supervisors, foreman and drivers with respect to trucking requirements.
- Outsourcing and recruiting of private trucks when required.
- Ensure company drivers are adhering to hours-of-service regulations
- Order any necessary over-weight and/or over-dimensional permits.
- Schedule regular maintenance and safety inspections on company trucks with drivers and shop.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years’ experience in a dispatch role
- Must have a valid NS driver’s license.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A working knowledge of MS Office software, MS Word, Excel, and Event.
- The ability to learn quickly and be adaptable to change.
- The ability to prioritize and organize (be able to multi-task).
- The ability to work well under pressure of deadlines.
- The ability to work occasional evenings and Saturdays as required.

CONCRETE FINISHER - FULL TIME - SEASONAL
Responsibilities:
⦁ To work as part of a team under supervision of the crew foreman &/or superintendent
⦁ Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement
⦁ Direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces as required
⦁ Fil hollows and remove high spots to smooth freshly placed concrete,
⦁ Use power vi****or to compact concrete,
⦁ Level top surface of concrete according to grade and depth specifications using straightedge or float,
⦁ Apply desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools
⦁ Apply hardening & sealing compounds to cure surface of concrete
⦁ Waterproof, dampproof and restore concrete surfaces
⦁ General maintenance of equipment
Qualifications:
⦁ Valid Class 5 NS driver’s license,
⦁ Ability to work with minimal supervision,
⦁ Must be willing to travel within Northern and Eastern Nova Scotia.
