There are people in this industry who help shape communities for decades without ever asking for recognition. At Cotton Inc., we are proud to celebrate one of them.
Congratulations to Carl Ryan on receiving the Terry Petkau Legacy Award for Outstanding Volunteer from Habitat for Humanity Canada at Habitat Canada’s 2026 Leadership & AGM Conference in Toronto.
This national award is one of the highest honours within Habitat for Humanity in Canada, recognizing individuals whose leadership, generosity, and commitment have helped advance the organization’s mission of building safe and affordable housing.
Since 2004, Carl has dedicated more than two decades of volunteer service to Habitat for Humanity Niagara, helping guide the organization through tremendous growth and increasing community need. Through his leadership as Vice Chair and Chair of the Board, Habitat Niagara expanded from building one home annually to multiple homes each year, helping make homeownership possible for dozens of local families.
Drawing on his construction expertise and passion for community building, Carl has helped unite volunteers, partners, and industry leaders in support of 66 homes across Niagara, including Habitat Niagara’s largest project to date: a nine-unit development in Welland.
At Cotton, we often talk about building the foundations of our communities. Carl represents exactly what that means. His leadership, generosity, and commitment to helping others have left a lasting impact across Niagara, both on and off the build site.
We are incredibly proud to have Carl as part of the Cotton team and grateful for the example he sets every day.
Congratulations, Carl. This recognition is incredibly well deserved.
