Where could margin be disappearing in your composite production process?

It is not always the obvious costs that cause the problem.

In many workshops, hidden waste appears through small, repeated issues: extra consumables, excess resin, offcuts, scrap, rejected parts, rework, extra handling and time spent solving the same production problems again and again.

These costs can easily become accepted as part of normal production. But over repeat work, they can quietly affect margin and make jobs harder to plan accurately.

The useful first step is to look closely at the process itself.

Where is variation entering the job? Where are materials being used unnecessarily? Where is time being lost? Which steps depend too heavily on manual correction?

Better process control can help manufacturers understand where waste is being created and where practical improvements may be possible.
