We are thrilled at the results from this job as are our clients!
I wanted to use this opportunity to discuss some issues that can come up when trying to decide on a contractor for your project.
Some things to consider
Always get multiple quotes. Not just for price comparison, but quality and experience.
Do they carry insurance?
If they do, is it enough, and can they show you proof? Typically 2 million is the minimum they should have.
Discuss all aspects of what you would like done and have it in writing. A formal contract is the best way to protect yourself.
Typically, a deposit before beginning is required, approx 30% down. After that, the terms would depend on the length of the job.
If you are purchasing your own materials, remember any defects or warranty issues will be yours to correct. It is usually best to have a contractor purchase his own materials.
Communication is the key. You are letting someone into your personal space, and you should feel comfortable.
They should be professional, on time, and answer all your questions.
Having any renovations done can be stressful; make sure you are comfortable with who you hire.
