STEAM Education Centres is an non-profit organization dedicated to the development and delivery of STEAM education programming and advocacy in Southwestern Ontario. We program and provide access to resources, workshops and community spaces that enhance awareness and understanding of innovative technologies and digital media. We work closely with our regional school boards, STEAM educators and local communities to enable edifying interaction across all age groups and backgrounds.

🌪️ A cyclone is a powerful storm with strong winds and heavy rain that forms over warm ocean waters. As it moves, it can bring flooding, big waves, and damage to buildings and trees. Meteorologists use satellites and weather tools to track cyclones and give early warnings to help keep people safe. ☀️ A drought happens when an area gets very little rain for a long time. Without enough water like rivers and lakes, plants can dry up making it harder for people, animals and crops to survive. Everyone can help save water by turning off the tap while brushing their teeth, taking shorter showers, and using only what they need. Every drop counts, and small actions can make a big difference in protecting our planet! 💧🌍

🌍 Did you know an earthquake happens when pieces of Earth’s crust suddenly move? This movement sends out waves that make the ground shake. Some earthquakes are so small we can’t feel them, while others can be much stronger. Scientists use special tools called seismographs to study earthquakes, but they can’t predict exactly when one will happen. Remember, if the ground starts shaking, Drop, Cover, and Hold On to help stay safe! 🏠💚

Seasons happen because Earth is tilted as it orbits the Sun. ☀️✨When your part of Earth tilts toward the Sun, you get more direct sunlight and warmer weather.
