August 27 - Imperial is currently steam venting as part of site operations, and increased noise may be heard offsite. Steam venting is a controlled operational activity and is being safely managed by trained personnel. At this time, the venting is expected to continue for several days. We are working to minimize impacts where possible.

Congratulations to this year's scholarship recipients at Aamjiwnaang First Nation. Five students pursuing post-secondary programs were awarded an Imperial bursary at the community's scholarship banquet. The annual celebration recognizes student's achievements and successes, and we were honoured to take part.

Imperial personnel are managing an operational issue that has resulted in elevated flaring. Maintenance activities are being planned, and elevated flaring is expected to continue for several more days. There’s a potential for noise from the flare to be heard offsite.

Imperial is conducting a water study in the St. Clair River today (August 18). As part of the study, a small amount of environmentally safe pink tracer dye will be released into the river to help researchers better understand water movement and flow patterns. The dye may be visible in the water during the study. This activity is not expected to affect boating or river navigation.
