Meet Steven 👋

Steven Fraser has been with Northline since day one, and if there’s a job that needs doing, chances are he’s ready to jump in.

Now a 3rd-year apprentice, Steven has become a bit of a jack of all trades around here. He brings a strong work ethic to every job, asks the right questions, and takes pride in doing things properly and safely.

He’s also someone the rest of the crew can count on. Whether he’s sharing what he knows, lending a hand, or helping someone figure something out, Steven is always willing to step up.

We’ve watched him learn a lot over the years, and now he’s helping others do the same.

Glad to have you on the crew, Steven. ⚡

One of the best parts of what we do is getting the chance to share it with the next generation.

Earlier this year, Northline was proud to join Wataynikaneyap Power and fellow industry partners for their first Powerline Trades Career Exploration Day at the IHSA training site in Thunder Bay.

42 students from Westgate Collegiate and Vocational Institute spent the day getting a firsthand look at the powerline industry through bucket truck demonstrations, pole climbing, safety training, ground-level fuse switching, a pole-top rescue demonstration, and plenty of conversations with people working in the industry.

Days like this give students a chance to ask questions, try something new, and see where a career in the skilled trades could take them.

Hearing afterward that students called it one of the most engaging field trips they'd been on made the day that much better.

A big thank you to Wataynikaneyap Power for bringing this event together, to every organization and industry partner who shared their time and knowledge, and of course, to the students who showed up ready to learn.

We're proud to have played a small part in it, and we're looking forward to seeing where opportunities like this lead next.

Born and raised in Thunder Bay, he is proud to lead a locally owned company that values its employees, supports its community, and invests in the people and resources needed to get every job done right.

Matt believes that every employee should return home safely at the end of each day, and this philosophy is embedded in every aspect of Northline's operations. From investing in training and equipment to fostering a strong safety culture, his leadership ensures that safety remains the foundation of everything Northline does.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the wildfires across Northwestern Ontario. ❤️

These fires have hit close to home. Members of our team have family and friends who have been impacted, including those who have lost their homes, camps, and places filled with cherished memories. It is heartbreaking to witness the devastation these fires are causing throughout our region.

To the firefighters, emergency responders, volunteers, and everyone working tirelessly to protect our communities - thank you. Your courage, dedication, and sacrifice do not go unnoticed.

To everyone who has been evacuated or affected in any way, please know that you are in our thoughts. We stand with you and the many communities facing these incredibly difficult circumstances.

Please stay safe, take care of one another, and continue to follow updates and directions from local emergency officials.

We're proud to call the North home, and even prouder to help build the infrastructure that keeps it connected.

The early mornings. The long drives. The changing conditions. The problem-solving that comes with every job site.

This crew shows up every day ready to get after it, wherever the work takes them across Northwestern Ontario.

Different jobs. Different locations. Same commitment to getting the work done right.

We're proud of the people who make it happen.

When most people think about spring and summer, they think about warmer weather.

We think about project season.

This is the time of year when projects ramp up, crews get moving, and the days start filling up fast. There's more ground to cover, more work underway, and plenty to look forward to.

It's a busy season, but it's also one of the best parts of the year. There's nothing quite like getting out into the field and watching projects take shape from start to finish.

We're looking forward to what's ahead. 💪🏼
