The Coffee Shop had a good problem: six roasts, growing fast, customers who loved the seasonal blends.
It also had a bad problem: preprinted labels.
Every SKU meant a minimum order of 5,000+ labels. Every roast tweak, every allergen update, every new bag size meant reordering and writing off whatever was left in the box.
By the time their holiday blend sold out, they had 2,200 unused labels for it sitting in a drawer. Multiply that across six SKUs, three times a year, and you're looking at real money frozen in cardboard.
This is the story of how The Coffee Shop stopped buying labels, and started printing exactly what they needed, when they needed it.
Over the next 12 weeks, we'll walk through how they scaled their labeling from a countertop operation to a wholesale production line, using three different Epson ColorWorks printers along the way, each one solving a different problem at a different stage of growth.
