After joining Agnico Eagle in 2011, Louis Gendron stepped away to focus on his family and raise his children. When he returned a decade later, two of those children joined him at the company, creating a special family connection at work.

Today, as Mobile Maintenance Manager at Detour Lake, Louis combines his passion for mechanics with what he enjoys most: mentoring people and helping them grow in their careers.

One of my favourite things about being a dad is sharing stories with my kids. ❤️📖
After my recent trip to Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, I had the chance to bring home something special to share with my daughter: More Than a Meal.
This storybook shares real experiences from people across Nunavut, exploring how food connects families, communities, culture, and traditions across generations. What makes it even more meaningful is that I got to experience some of these connections firsthand during my visit.
Food insecurity remains a real challenge in Nunavut, and I'm grateful to see working alongside and local communities to support school breakfast programs reaching over 5,000 students across 22 schools.
But what I especially love about this book is that it gives families like mine an opportunity to learn about the people, traditions, and stories that make Nunavut so special. And now I get to share a little piece of that experience with my daughter. ❤️

J’ai eu l’immense privilège d’être invitée par Agnico Eagle Mines Limited pour découvrir son partenariat avec Breakfast Club of Canada / Club des petits déjeuners ☺️

✨ 🌍 En cette Journée mondiale de l’alimentation, j’avais envie de vous partager un petit aperçu de mon passage à Rankin Inlet et de cette initiative qui m’a beaucoup touchée.

Avec un engagement de 5 millions de dollars sur cinq ans, Agnico Eagle Meliadine soutient les programmes du Club des petits déjeuners dans 22 écoles des régions du Kivalliq et du Kitikmeot, permettant à plus de 5 000 élèves d’avoir accès à un petit déjeuner nutritif 🙌.

🥣 Sur place, ces chiffres ont pris tout leur sens. J’ai rencontré des équipes attentionnées, participé au service du petit déjeuner et partagé de beaux moments avec les enfants.

Je suis revenue avec beaucoup d’admiration pour toutes ces personnes et de la gratitude pour leur accueil. Mon cœur de maman et de nutritionniste s’en souviendra longtemps 💛.
