Mi’kma’ki Place, built for Membertou First Nation, is nearing completion in Cape Breton! 🏢

This five-storey office building is one of the first mass timber buildings of its size in Atlantic Canada.

Step inside and it’s not your typical office… exposed glulam beams and CLT panels run through all five storeys, making up approximately 70% of the structure, using 100% Canadian wood throughout.

We’re proud to have supported this build alongside Nordic Structures and our sister company Dora Construction Ltd.

We had special guests on the factory floor last week. 👀

The province spent the day with us capturing behind-the-scenes footage of our construction process, right here in Trenton.

These modules will soon become renal dialysis centres for three Nova Scotia communities: Evanston, Shelburne and Springhill.

Each module is built in a controlled factory environment, with the same attention to precision that goes into every project we manufacture.

This is a good reminder of why this work matters: three more Nova Scotia communities get dialysis care closer to home, without patients having to travel for treatment.

📦 Project Update: Kentville’s modules are wrapped, inspected and ready to roll!

Since we last checked in, our teams have been hard at work behind the scenes. At Eastcut’s facility in Trenton, each volumetric module has passed dimensional checks and inspections before being weather wrapped for transport, while DORA’s team wraps up site preparation in Kentville.

Next up: the delivery and assembly of the modules into a five-storey, 30-unit apartment building, including 10 accessible units. Our biggest modular build to date.

A 7,500-square-foot commercial build in Antigonish went up fast, starting with wall panels.

Eastcut supplied panelized wall systems and trusses for a new commercial build with Robert Archibald General Contracting LTD. in Antigonish, NS.

Here’s what our off-site construction looked like on site:

We turned our Structural Hall into a BBQ. 🍔

This past weekend marked our 2nd annual Family Fun Day with friends and family. Nail driving competitions, tug of wars, and no shortage of good food.

Close to 140 people build modular and panelized systems for communities across Atlantic Canada, and a lot of them have been part of the journey since day one.

Thanks to everyone who came out and made another year so special.
