Check it out !
This past week we had a request from a client in Picton that wanted to spice up their backyard koi fish pond with an arbor that would help increase the value of their property and provide a purpose without breaking the bank.
We were happy to oblige.
This is what we created.
We started with digging 4 holes, 42" deep, 14" across to accomodate 4- 12" sauna tubes, 3.5 feet deep. We used 12 foot, 4"x4" pressure treated post in each sauna tub with proper bracing before pouring the concrete. We mixed 16 bags of concrete for the four holes, (4 per tube)
Before we proceeded any further we let the concrete set up for 24 hours.
Day 2 we constructed and assembled the roof area out of pressure treated 2"x8" spruce squared up with cross pieces for aesthetics and longevity.
In the afternoon we designed and constructed the back wall out of 5.25" deck boards with 2"x4" bracing in the middle to hold up the grape vines ( they grow like weeds) and keep everything straight and plumb.
The fish in the pond and the homeowners love the new addition to the backyard .
This is an example of a project that can be done in two days, add backyard value without breaking the bank.
