B2Gold Nunavut welcomed staff from the Kitikmeot Inuit Association for “Inuit Employment Working Group” meetings at the Allen Kapolak Marine Laydown Area (AKMLA) this past week. The working group was formed by B2Gold Nunavut and KIA to provide a constructive forum to address barriers and obstacles to Inuit employment at the Back River Gold District, and to identify solutions and opportunities to maximize Inuit employment.

📢 Harvest Study Interviews

Do you harvest near the Goose Mine, Marine Laydown Area, or in Bathurst Inlet? Or have you in the recent past? If so, we would like to interview you!

B2Gold Nunavut will be conducting a Harvest Study as part of the Goose Mine’s monitoring program. The Study will be conducted over a five-year period (beginning in 2026), with in-person data collection anticipated to take place twice annually. The Study will focus on land users from four communities (i.e. Cambridge Bay, Kugluktuk, Bathurst Inlet, and Bay Chimo), who harvest in the Bathurst Inlet/Goose Mine area. Our first interviews are planned to commence in Cambridge Bay and Kugluktuk in May/June 2026.
