The Friends of Whitecourt Society/ Repeat Boutique, Whitecourt, AB are working towards something incredibly important for our community — bringing a CT scanner to our local hospital.

This is more than just equipment. It means faster diagnoses, better care, and fewer families having to travel out of town during some of their most difficult moments.

There is a fundraiser underway to help make this a reality, and we want to do our part.

Tri-Steel Salvage will be organizing a Scrap Metal Drive Fundraiser in support of the CT scanner initiative. This is an opportunity for our community to come together, clean up unused metal, and turn it into something meaningful that directly supports local healthcare.

If you have scrap metal, old equipment, or anything ready to be recycled — this is your chance to make a real impact.

Let’s rally together and show what Whitecourt can do when we support each other.

All material dropped off at the bins outside our gate will go to the fundraiser. if you want to donate your material just let the office know!

💚💙 Tri-Steel Salvage Fundraiser 💙💚

Kyle Krogsgaard has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer called Hepatosplenic T-cell lymphoma. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy, and once treatment is complete, his journey will continue with a stem cell (bone marrow) transplant. This next phase will require Kyle and his family to spend an extended period of time in Calgary.

Kyle is supported by his incredible wife, Alison, who never stops smiling, and their two beautiful daughters, Addison and Maren.

As a community, let’s come together and help support this family as they navigate an incredibly difficult chapter. Whether it’s through dropping your scrap off at the bins outside our gate, donating your current bin material, sharing this post, or keeping them in your thoughts and prayers — every bit of support matters.

💙 Community Support Notice 💙

From yesterday through January 5, Tri-Steel Salvage will be donating the proceeds from all bin material dropped outside our gate to support a local family who has tragically lost their son to su***de.

Our hearts are with this family during an unimaginable time of grief. As a community, we want to come together to offer support, care, and compassion in any way we can.

This loss is also a heartbreaking reminder that mental health struggles are real, and no one should feel they have to carry them alone. If you are hurting, overwhelmed, or silently struggling, please know that reaching out is not a weakness — it is a courageous step.

💬 If you or someone you know needs support:
• Talk to a trusted friend, family member, or community leader
• Reach out to a counselor, doctor, or mental health professional
• You can also call 811 and speak to health link who will connect you with a professional.

📍 Fox Creek Location Update

We wanted to share a quick update on our Fox Creek yard.

After carefully reviewing operating costs, we determined that running the site on a generator would not be an efficient or sustainable option. Instead, we’ve made the decision to move forward with permanent power installation.

⚡ Power installation will begin in early January, and once complete, our scale will be up and running.

✅ Material can still be dropped off during this time; however, payments cannot be issued until the scale is installed and operational.

This approach supports our long-term goals by creating a more reliable, efficient, and sustainable operation for the Fox Creek location. We truly appreciate everyone’s patience and continued support as we build this site the right way.

Holiday hours!

This is an alternative way to support this family if money is not an option.

Our hearts go out to them during this incredibly difficult time. We truly hope this small contribution helps them get back on their feet and brings a bit of comfort as they work toward rebuilding and enjoying the holidays again.
