Exploring the role of hashtag in shaping the future of mine action.
That was one of the key themes during Tuesday’s visit by the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) to our facility in Stockach.
Through a combination of technical discussions, capability demonstrations and exchanges on innovative finance, the visit highlighted the value of bringing together different perspectives from across the hashtag community.
As we work to address evolving challenges, maintaining a dialogue like this between operational users, technical innovators and sector stakeholders is essential to developing hashtag that deliver meaningful impact in the field.
We appreciate the opportunity to exchange insights with hashtag and look forward to continuing the conversation, and attending the GICHD Innovation Session 2026.

What if your mine plough could do more than breach a ?
One attachment - Two capabilities

During a field demonstration, we showcased a competence that can significantly simplify breach operations.

The GCS combines two critical functions in a single attachment:

• Minefield breaching
• Obstacle reduction and dozer blade operations

This allows operators to transition directly from clearing a lane to reducing obstacles such as trenches or anti-tank ditches, without changing attachments or requiring another vehicle.

Like that, the mine plough reduces equipment requirements, maintains momentum and supports more efficiency in breach operations.

At , mechanical clearance capabilities were seen as a central element to enable . Yet, the conversations also moved beyond the technology itself to the wider value of integrated and risk reduction.

GCS-200 у команді HALO Ukraine: від навчання до роботи в полі

Наприкінці літа ми передали HALO Ukraine машину GCS-200 і навчили команду партнерів працювати з нею.
Тепер вона вже готує землю до розмінування на Харківщині.

Що вдалося за цей час:
🔹 7 фахівців HALO пройшли навчання від GCS на Миколаївщині
🔹 5 із них вже працюють з машиною на Харківщині: керівник і четверо операторів
🔹з 4 вересня по 10 жовтня 17 051 м² землі, забрудненої вибухонебезпечними предметами, підготовлено до розмінування за допомогою GCS-200, пришвидшивши її повернення громаді

«Дуже гарна машина, легко керована, потужна і слухняна. Навіть з початком сезону дощів вона поки добре себе проявляє, не знижує швидкість і маневреність в полях. Подивимось що буде за мінусових температур, але наразі мені подобається.

Я працюю оператором GCS-200 не так давно, з вересня, але я в захваті. Мені як жінці, яка раніше не мала жодного стосунку до техніки, дуже цікаво і зручно працювати, адже управління машиною продумано до дрібниць. Особливо приємно, що вона пришвидшує процес розмінування», — Анастасія Федюшина, операторка GCS-200 у HALO Ukraine.

Humanitarian demining isn’t only fieldwork across vast areas. Sometimes it’s a few trenches in the middle of a town where the whole community depends on.

This residential building was destroyed during the full-scale invasion and has now been rebuilt under an IOM programme. Next step: connecting gas, water and electricity underground. Yet, every metre of digging may hide explosive ordnance.

Our team, led by Andrii, Head of the Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) Department and a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) specialist, support the construction team throughout the earthworks. Before work begins, we train site staff to recognise and know what to do if they find it.

Sometimes the most effective solutions are also the simplest.

In exchange with a European defence delegation earlier this week, we focused on one key question: how can proven technologies be adapted to deliver practical, deployable capability when time, complexity and budgets matter?

Through open dialogue and field demonstrations in our facility in Stockach, we explored different approaches to solutions, while showcasing the flexibility and modularity of the portfolio.

The machine goes first, so people don’t have to. Meet Hannie, a new GCS-200 remotely operated platform joining the team. It will take on the most hazardous tasks while deminers stay at a safe distance.

The name was suggested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, whose support made this new capacity possible. It honours Hannie Schaft, a Dutch resistance member during the Second World War and a symbol of courage and determination. Fittingly, Hannie will work alongside ’s women’s demining team.

This is the 84th GCS-made machine to join in , bringing communities one step closer to safe land.

Iraq is ready to turn ambition into implementation and that is where can make the greatest contribution.

The earlier with Ali Falih Al-Zaidi, Prime Minister of , brought together a diverse group of international companies to discuss the country's next phase of development. The discussion was less about what Iraq needs and more about how government and industry can move forward together to deliver tangible outcomes.

We were proud to contribute GCS' perspective to that conversation.

Alongside global leaders from , industry and infrastructure, it’s clear we can each contribute expertise and help turn plan into progress.
