Start with a simple rule of thumb: like welds best with like.

Thermoplastics fall into two groups – semi-crystalline (e.g. PP, PA, PEEK or POM) and amorphous (e.g. ABS, PC, PMMA or PET). Joints made from the same material give the most reliable results. Beyond that, many related material combinations can be welded successfully too – which ones exactly is shown in our compatibility overview.

When the materials are compatible, ultrasonic welding plays to its strengths: clean, fast and repeatable joints – without adhesives, solvents or additional fasteners.
