Cement producers across the Arab world face similar pressures: higher availability targets, shorter maintenance windows and installed equipment from many different suppliers.

Easier maintenance, fewer failures, longer gearbox life – these were the topics that brought 120+ cement professionals together at the Bangladesh Cement Industry Customer Seminar 2026 on 24 September.
Led by Anbumani Thamilselvan and Yogesh , the seminar set out to deepen participants’ knowledge of existing MAAG gearboxes and to show how our latest developments build on them. Starting from the proven WPU and WPV designs, the sessions moved on to the new WPU NG and WPV NG. Their more maintenance-friendly design addresses many of the challenges plants face in daily operation, and the emergency shoulder, which limits grinding table movement and protects the gearbox internals, drew particular attention.
A significant highlight was the bevel set replacement kit for non-MAAG gearboxes. For plants struggling with recurring bevel set issues, replacing them with minimal modifications offers a practical, cost-effective way to extend gearbox life and improve reliability.

Counterfeit spare parts don't fail loudly. They fail slowly - and expensively.

If your ball mill runs on a 𝗦𝗬𝗠𝗘𝗧𝗥𝗢™ 𝗚𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁, a copied rotating part might look right on a shelf - dimensions plausible, price tempting.

But a resemblance isn't a specification. It's a bet against your uptime, and it usually shows up months later as uneven tooth contact, premature pitting, or vibration that never quite goes away.

𝗚𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗬𝗠𝗘𝗧𝗥𝗢™ 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 are matched to your unit's original specification - not reverse-engineered by a third party guessing at what should work.

What do you do on a weekend when you work at MAAG Gear? Some of us run half marathons. 🏃

On 26-27 September, our MAAG Gear crew took on one of the biggest running events in Poland - the Garmin Gdańsk Half Marathon.

Special shout-out to Michał Trębacz (Warehouse Operator), who achieved an outstanding 130th place out of 12,670 participants. Our team’s results are available here: https://lnkd.in/d3shk9-R

𝗠𝗔𝗔𝗚 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗔𝗔𝗚 𝗴𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀.

Our latest proof: a dual-pinion ball mill gearbox from another manufacturer, overhauled within a two-week planned shutdown at YTL Cement Malaysia.
YTL already trusts us with its MAAG CPV, CPU and SYMETRO™ units, so it was natural this overhaul came to us too.

The difficult part was 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴: both self-aligning output pinions must mesh with the girth gear exactly in phase, or the load shares unevenly. Our LGD Engineering team developed a dedicated timing calculation program to get it right.
We also replaced all spherical bearings on the input and pinion shafts, plus the CARB bearings on the floating shafts.
