One of the key points of The 10 Comlux Commandments is COMMUNICATION because most problems don’t come from mistakes; they come from silence.

Let’s take a pre-flight briefing as an example. This discussion is a critical communication touchpoint that aligns the entire crew. It’s the time when all details of the mission, potential challenges, and each team member’s responsibilities are discussed. Unless the crew communicates effectively and openly here, a seamless flight simply can’t be achieved.

Open, transparent, constructive, and efficient communication together with listening is encouraged throughout all Comlux divisions and departments.

Historically, aviation suffered from "macho" culture where junior pilots were afraid to correct more senior captains. Not at Comlux.
Not long ago, during a landing approach in heavy fog, a junior pilot noticed a checklist item was missed. A respectful Comlux culture allowed him to challenge the captain’s decision without fear of retaliation.

Every Comlux Airbus and Boeing operation is accompanied by a dedicated flight engineer (FSE) 24/7. FSEs know their assigned aircraft as a palm of their hand and carry out not only routine minor maintenance tasks but also play a critical role should a technical issue arise down route in the middle of a flight mission.

Joao here is performing routine maintenance checks and topping up the oil reservoir on SkyLady left hand side engine during a flight to central Africa.

Having an FSE to fly with an aircraft isn’t a requirement. It’s about how much additional safety margin, technical depth, and operational assurance an operator wants to build into their service. At Comlux, we provide such added value as a standard.
