Real precision shows in the finest details.

The delicate ornaments in the “Love the real” poster demonstrate just how much precision is required to transform an idea into an exceptional embellishment. Every fine line, every texture and every relief depends on a stamping die capable of reproducing even the most intricate details with absolute accuracy.

As specialists in high-precision stamping dies, our role is to make sure none of these details gets lost on the way from design to embellishment. Because outstanding embellishment starts long before the press. It starts with precision.

With MicroEmbossing, textures and relief embossing, this design comes to life, creating an experience that goes beyond the printed image.

It is the combination of these different effects and the precision of the tools behind them that makes the finished piece so special. And apparently, we are not the only ones who thought so: the poster was awarded Silver at this year's Foil & Specialty Effects Association Gold Leaf Award.

Exploring the Power of Touch in Consumer Choices

In a digital age, let's not underestimate the impact of touch on creating memorable, positive impressions that drive purchasing decisions.

That's to say, tactile effects play a crucial role in shaping buying behavior. From the texture of a product to the feel of packaging, the sensory experience influences consumer decisions.

H+M stamping dies offer maximum variety in textures and are designed to create tactile effects that engage consumers with your product. These effects capture attention while communicating quality and exclusivity.

After all, touch remains one of the most powerful ways to turn packaging into a lasting brand experience.

Color catches the eye. Structure keeps it.

This TRUSTCOLOR® sample from Leonhard KURZ demonstrates how striking a color-flip effect can be. Its high-gloss light transmission creates a dynamic appearance that changes with the viewing angle, giving packaging a premium and ever-changing visual character. Enhanced product protection is an added benefit, but the decoration is what people notice first.

What makes the MONOLITE sample even more impressive is the integration of MicroEmbossing.
Created with an H+M brass stamping die, precisely engraved MicroEmbossing patterns add controlled light reflections, creating depth and movement in the metallization. The effect is subtle, but highly distinctive. Together, the transfer foil and microstructures create a decoration that feels refined and technically precise.

And there is another advantage.

Because the MicroEmbossing design is engraved directly into the H+M brass die, brands can create a distinctive decoration that is difficult to replicate. The fine structures become part of the design language, while also supporting the consistency and repeatability converters need.

Innovative materials create remarkable effects. H+M precision tooling brings them to life.

When precision can be repeated, production becomes more flexible.

“Why would I ever need a second die for the same design?”

Perhaps the same design appears multiple times on one print sheet. Perhaps production is split across different presses or locations. Or maybe demand has grown and additional tooling is needed.

In all these cases, one thing matters most: all dies must deliver exactly the same result.
That's the strength of CNC engraving.

Because CNC engraving is based on digital manufacturing data, identical dies can be reproduced with exceptional precision whenever they are needed. Whether you need two identical dies today or another one years later, every line, every contour and every detail remains exactly the same.
For converters, this means greater flexibility. Production can be expanded, repeated or relocated without compromising embossing quality or consistency.

The material then adds another advantage.

At H+M, we primarily manufacture our dies from brass. Its excellent durability, corrosion resistance and dimensional stability mean that the original tool can remain in service for many years. And if an additional die is ever required, the original manufacturing data allows us to produce an identical twin with the same precision as the first.

Because reproducibility is not just about creating a copy.
It's about creating an identical twin.

Cosmetics are designed to enhance beauty.
Our job is to enhance cosmetics.

Premium cosmetic products are expected to stand out. Behind every metallic finish on a lipstick case, compact powder or fragrance cap is a decoration process that must deliver precision, speed and consistency.

In high-volume cosmetics production, every second counts. Short cycle times and consistent quality are essential to keep production running efficiently while meeting the high expectations of premium brands.

H+M silicone stamping dies are designed to support exactly that. The integrated high-performance silicone supports rapid heat transfer, enabling fast heat-up and stable production conditions for consistent foil decoration.

Consumers notice the beauty. At H+M, we focus on the process that creates it.

Tiny details. Extraordinary effects.

With NanoEmbossing, structures can be engraved up to 40% finer than MicroEmbossing. The result is an exceptional level of detail, giving designers even greater creative freedom.

From photo-like surface details and realistic brush patterns to smooth matte-to-gloss transitions, crisp lenticular effects and low-level security features, NanoEmbossing enables visual effects that enhance the perceived value of printed products.

Every successful NanoEmbossing application starts with a precision-manufactured stamping tool.
At H+M, every micron matters.

A design does not end with what you see.

Colour, typography and imagery shape the first impression of a product.
But the surface adds another layer to the experience.

A raised detail can guide the eye. A fine structure can change the way light moves across the design. And an embossed element can give a brand mark more presence without making the overall design louder.

This is why embellishment should not be an afterthought. It can become part of the design language from the very beginning.

For designers and brand owners, the question is therefore not only: What should the product look like?
But also: How should it feel in the hand?

To translate that idea into a precise result, the stamping die matters. Fine contours, smooth transitions and carefully sculptured levels all depend on the quality of the tool.
At H+M, we create high-precision stamping dies that help turn your idea into a precise result on the finished product.

Because a strong embellishment design deserves a stamping tool that can bring it to life.

Challenge the norm and embrace the absurd!

This is how the KURZ Design Team summarizes the trend AntiThesis — and in a way, it could also describe part of our DNA at H+M.

Well, maybe “absurd” is not the word we would use for stamping die production every day. But challenging the norm? Absolutely!

For us, it means not stopping at the first obvious solution. It means looking closely at the design, the material, the foil, the embossing detail and the production process — and asking: how can we make this work in the best possible way?

Designers need room to explore bold ideas.
Stamping companies need tools that turn those ideas into reliable results at the press.

As a manufacturer of high-precision stamping dies, we help translate creative concepts into production-ready surfaces. Sometimes that means finding a way to realize a challenging detail. Sometimes it means recommending a small adjustment that makes the result cleaner, more stable or more efficient. And sometimes it means bringing together experience, technology and a bit of courage to move beyond the standard solution.

Because challenging the norm is not about being loud for the sake of it.
It is about finding better ways to create outstanding results.

Happy International Kissing Day!

Did you know that kissing involves as many as 34 facial muscles and 112 postural muscles? It also triggers a cascade of of biological responses in our bodies. When we kiss, our brains release a cocktail of chemicals like dopamine, oxytocin, and serotonin, which boost our mood, deepen our bonds, and even reduce stress.

But kissing isn't just about emotional and chemical reactions - it's also about the sensory experience. The touch of lips, the warmth, and the subtle pressure all contribute to a haptic experience that our brains process.

That brings us to an exciting parallel: the haptic sensation you get from touching a finely embellished product. When you run your fingers over it, you experience a tactile response similar to the one your body feels during a kiss.

The sample featured below perfectly captures the essence of a kiss. The effect is brought to life by a sculptured stamping die, crafted with meticulous attention to every detail. Attention to detail is part of our DNA and is applied throught the complete production process at H+M. From programming, to milling on our state-of-the-art CNC machines, to final check before shipping.

And now after all information and explanation: let's celebrate the power of a kiss and the emotions that can be created by touch! On International Kissing Day - and 364 more days of the year

Game. Set. Embellishment.

Wimbledon is back. A tournament built on tradition — white clothing, grass courts, strawberries and cream. And yet, even a tournament with almost 150 years of history keeps evolving: retractable roofs, improved technology, better comfort for players and spectators.

Tradition and progress can go beautifully together. The same is true for the stamping technology.

The basic principle has been around for a long time. But the way stamping tools are created, produced and used has changed enormously.

At H+M, we have always believed that precision grows with curiosity. That is why we keep looking at new technologies, new production methods and new ways to make embellishment more efficient, reliable and inspiring.

Over the past 60 years, this has led us to:

→ move from manual engraving to CNC-engraved stamping tools, allowing faster production, reproducible results and effects that were not possible before.

→ adopt laser engraving early on and build an extensive catalogue of NanoEmbossing patterns.

→ develop efficiency tools such as JobSaver, EasyFix plates and insert dies to make setup easier and more reliable for machine operators.

→ create and continuously expand a wide range of textures and patterns, opening up new design possibilities for brands and designers.

What has not changed is our passion for embellishment, our love for creativity and our focus on supporting our customers in the best possible way.

Tradition matters.
But so does the willingness to keep improving.

Game. Set. H+M.
