A new chapter begins at HAHN Automation Group! 🎓

Today, we welcomed ten new apprentices to our team in Rheinböllen as they take their first steps into their professional careers. 🚀

This year, our new colleagues are starting their apprenticeships in five different professions:

🔹 Industrial Mechanic
🔹 Mechatronics Technician
🔹 Electronics Technician for Industrial Engineering
🔹 IT Specialist for System Integration
🔹 Industrial Clerk

Their first day was all about arriving, getting to know each other, and discovering their new workplace. After a welcome from our management team, introductions, and a shared breakfast, our new apprentices joined their departments to meet their colleagues and get their first impressions of what lies ahead.

Shaping the Future of Industry through Innovation, Collaboration, and Skills.

We were pleased to welcome Michael Ebling, Minister for Economic Affairs, Tourism, Energy and Climate of Rhineland-Palatinate, to our headquarters in Rheinböllen as part of his summer tour.
Together with our CEO Frank Konrad, CFO Diego van Muylem, and further HAHN colleagues, we discussed what it takes to keep industrial value creation competitive in Rhineland-Palatinate – from investing in technology and R&D to strengthening collaboration between industry, universities, and research institutions.

🔬 Innovation & R&D: We shared insights into our R&D activities and projects such as DemoRec and FENI-X, demonstrating how we turn research and new technologies into industrial applications.

🩺 Life Sciences: During a tour of our assembly floor, we showcased our expertise in developing and building highly automated production solutions – and discussed the opportunities arising from Rhineland-Palatinate’s growing life sciences ecosystem.

🎓 Education & skills: A visit to our Training & Education Center highlighted another key investment in our future: developing skilled professionals ourselves and creating long-term career opportunities in the region.

We are committed to continuing our investment in technology, innovation, and people – and to contributing our expertise to a strong and competitive industrial future in Rhineland-Palatinate.

How can vocational education create opportunities across borders?

This week, we had the honor of welcoming Elke Büdenbender, patroness of the former VDMA initiative "Skilled Workers for Africa", to our Rheinböllen site, together with VDMA Vice President Verena Thies, Botswana's Ambassador to Germany, John-Thomas Dipowe, and other distinguished guests.

The visit highlighted the long-term impact of an initiative that promoted industry-driven vocational education in several African countries between 2014 and 2024.
For us, that impact has a name: Condrad Sekgwathe and Nicholas Maphane.

After completing a mechatronics training program in Botswana and joining HAHN Automation Group for an internship in 2023, both are now valued members of our assembly team in Germany.

Their story demonstrates what is possible when high-quality vocational education, international collaboration, and committed people come together.

A big thank you to everyone who contributed to making this visit possible and to the VDMA for driving this initiative over the past decade.

Following the official kickoff on Wednesday, the competition officially started yesterday at our TEC—Training & Education Center. From early morning on, participants demonstrated technical expertise, precision, and focus under real competition conditions. ⚙️💪

We are especially proud of our two HAHN Automation Group participants, Louis Hoffmann and Linus Oberst, who represented the with outstanding commitment throughout the competition. 👏

Thank you, Jörg – 16 years of dedication at HAHN 👏

After nearly 16 years with HAHN Automation Group at our site in Engen, we are saying goodbye to our colleague Jörg as he begins his well-deserved retirement.

Since joining us in September 2010 as an industrial mechanic, Jörg has been a valued part of the team. With his technical expertise, hands-on mentality, and pragmatic approach, he was always someone colleagues and customers could rely on – whether in the workshop or on-site.

But Jörg was much more than that: a true problem-solver, an organizational talent, and a teammate who brought experience, humor, and positivity into everyday work life.

Now a new chapter begins – with more time for biking 🚴, camping ⛺, and many exciting adventures ahead.

Networking & Good Food with HAHN🍴

On May 12, we had the pleasure of supporting the Annual General Meeting of the Regionalrat Wirtschaft Rhein-Hunsrück e.V. at the Kulturhaus Rheinböllen with catering from our HAHN Automation Group canteen.

For around 70 guests, our canteen team prepared a varied finger food buffet that accompanied an evening full of networking, exchange, and inspiring conversations.

Events like these are also a great opportunity to showcase a part of HAHN Automation Group that many people may not know yet: Our canteen in Rheinböllen is open not only to employees, but also to external guests.

From fresh daily meals and vegetarian options to a weekly soup and salad bar, our canteen offers a welcoming place for lunch, meetings, and community.

A big thank you to the Regionalrat Wirtschaft Rhein-Hunsrück e.V. for the trustful collaboration and to everyone involved for the pleasant exchange throughout the evening. ✨
