In the printing industry, preparation is everything. That’s why we were excited to welcome the team from MTL Carton to Radebeul recently. We sat down to clarify crucial process-engineering questions for the two new Rapida presses they ordered this past June – their first Rapida machines ever!

With delivery set for spring 2027, MTL Carton is taking their operations to the next level. Due to their dynamic growth, these machines will be installed in a brand-new, purpose-built location in Jonava, Lithuania. Building a new production site around state-of-the-art print technology is a massive undertaking, and we are proud to support their technical team every step of the way. These new Rapidas will be tasked with producing MTL's diverse portfolio, which includes high-quality packaging for frozen food, pharmaceuticals, to***co, beverages, luxury goods, and many more.

ava unites market-leading solutions for product authentication, brand protection, and traceability into a single digital identity, eliminating industry fragmentation for luxury goods, watches, spirits, and high-value consumer products.

Visitors at Stand AB13 can experience live demonstrations of markerless surface authentication alongside invisible protection embedded directly into printed images and varnish layers.

We have some news from our Postpress team! After four successful years as Managing Director, Jan Drechsel is handing over the symbolic leadership baton. We are very pleased to welcome Sebastian Schaper as the new Managing Director for our Barcelona site!

Sebastian has been part of our team since July. Following an intensive, collaborative handover period, he has now officially taken over the role of Managing Director on site. Jan will now be focusing entirely on his global responsibilities as Vice President Business Segment Postpress.

A huge thank you, dear Jan, and a warm welcome to the team, dear Sebastian! We look forward to tackling challenges together and achieving many new milestones in the field of folding carton production.

Stay tuned: next week we’ll get to know Sebastian a little better.

What a pleasure to recently host the entire staff of 𝗗𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗶 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗚𝗿𝗼̈𝗲𝗿 at our Koenig & Bauer Customer Experience Center! For some team members, it was their very first time seeing a printing press factory live, and their enthusiasm was contagious.

The team enjoyed a comprehensive tour – exploring our offset solutions, die-cutters, and the digital VariJET 106. The half-format Rapida 76 and the large-format sheetfed offset Rapida 145 were clear crowd favorites, sparking intense technical discussions.

A golden eagle can target its prey with razor-sharp accuracy from over three kilometres away. Its visual precision is absolutely unrivalled in the natural world. 🦅

Time for today’s wow fact: ‘Eagle eyes’ in a metaphorical sense ensure the highest precision in our Ipress family of flatbed die-cutters and the CutPRO Q 106.

Our innovative Cut2Print register system optically detects the 1.4 x 1.4 mm register marks printed on the print control strip or on the side edge of the sheet using 3 eagle eyes – um, cameras. Each individual sheet is then aligned with microscopic accuracy as it is transferred to the die-cutter's gripper system.

The result: the print image and die-cut align with pinpoint accuracy – for your perfectly die-cut folding cartons.
