Until now, it has never been the focus here in our news updates – the CutPRO X 106 rotary die-cutter. Yet, it is not only the fastest die-cutter in the portfolio, but it also differs quite significantly from its flatbed companions in many ways.

As a strong pillar of the finishing process, it stands – equipped in its top-of-the-range configuration for industrial folding carton production – in the Customer Experience Center in Radebeul. Mathias, our highly experienced postpress professional and chief operator, ensures that it can be thoroughly tested every single day by guests and prospects from all over the world.

But that's all over now. At least for the moment! And this puts Mathias in a really good mood 😉: The CutPRO X 106 has been undergoing a refit since the beginning of the week to be equipped with the latest blanker generation.

Mathias comments: "The CutPRO X is already a real powerhouse anyway, but with the new blanker, we are taking it to a completely new level of efficiency and performance. I am really looking forward to presenting the new setup in action to you here in Radebeul soon!"

At today’s 101st Annual General Meeting in Würzburg, Koenig & Bauer presented the targeted transformation of the company under our strategic framework IMPACT. Driven by technological substance and digital innovation, we are realigning our priorities to increase operational resilience and secure our market position.

Our Executive Board explained the significant operational progress being made, including our global AI offensive through the House of AI and our new strategic partnership with Munich-based robotics pioneer RobCo to bring no-code automation to life. Despite a volatile global environment, we have seen a resilient start to 2026, backed by a strong order intake and an order backlog that has once again exceeded the important billion-euro mark. We are delighted that our shareholders are fully supporting this chosen course of implementation.

We are taking the next step towards the autonomous factory. We are thrilled to announce our strategic partnership with Munich-based robotics scale-up RobCo to advance automation in the printing and packaging industry. As part of our strategic framework "IMPACT", this collaboration focuses on optimizing machine peripherals and closing manual interfaces from material feeding to final palletising, particularly in the postpress sector. By combining our industry expertise with RobCo's innovative no-code technology, highly complex, isolated work steps will be integrated into seamless, digital workflows.

This "zero-barrier-automation" approach empowers local employees to manage and reconfigure processes independently without specialized IT knowledge, helping our customers address the global shortage of skilled labor. To drive this flexible automation architecture across the group, we have established our newly sharpened operational unit, Factory & Machine Automation, as a central innovation hub. The first customer installation is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027 as we work together to make the autonomous print shop a reality.
