[Eurosatory - Day 5] SPARTA-G70 smallsat and the YODA mission

Protecting your sovereignty in space is no longer an option. Interference with strategic government satellites are made, even in geostationary orbit.

👀Watch the surroundings of your strategic assets in geostationary orbit by using one or several small satellites as space-based patrollers. Detect and identify potential threats in orbit such as unknown spacecrafts and hostile proximity operations.

🛰️That is the goal of the YODA mission led by the Commandement de l’Espace (French Space Command - French MoD).

For YODA, HEMERIA is designing and manufacturing two geostationary smallsats with the support of CNES, the French Space Agency, and DGA (French procurement agency - Ministère des Armées). YODA smallsats are based on HEMERIA’s SPARTA-G70 bus, a 50 kg satellite platform able to host ~15 kg of payload.

🛰️ Enhancing European sovereignty in Space Situational Awareness

Today, at the Eurosatory exhibition, ArianeGroup and HEMERIA signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore new synergies in the field of Space Situational Awareness (SSA). 🤝

The agreement was signed by Vincent Pery, Head of Defence Programmes at ArianeGroup, and Nicolas Multan, President of HEMERIA, marking the beginning of discussions aimed at combining the complementary strengths of both companies’ surveillance capabilities.
Together, ArianeGroup and HEMERIA will explore how the Helix worldwide optical surveillance network and HEMERIA’s radar-based monitoring expertise can contribute to:

🔹 more comprehensive cataloguing across all orbital regimes
🔹 enhanced tracking capabilities in Low Earth Orbit (LEO)
🔹 strengthened European autonomy and beyond in space surveillance and protection

🌍 ArianeGroup’s Helix system is Europe’s largest private telescope network, enabling the detection, tracking and characterisation of 35,000 tracked space objects from LEO to GEO and beyond, including cislunar space.

Today, Helix is capable of tracking more than 35,000 space objects thanks to a global network of 18 stations and 53 sensors operation worldwide.

By 2030, the system will expand to more than 45 stations and over 100 sensors, significantly strengthening Europe’s independent surveillance capabilities.

📡 HEMERIA brings recognised expertise in radar-based SSA through its MEDOC passive radar system and its independent catalogue of more than 10,000 LEO objects, supported by more than 150,000 measurements every day.

By combining optical and radar surveillance technologies, ArianeGroup and HEMERIA aim to contribute to a more resilient, autonomous and sovereign European space monitoring capability. 🚀

[Eurosatory - Day 4]

Today, we had the honor of meeting with Mr. Jean-Pierre Farandou, Minister of Labour and Solidarity, and Ms. Sabrina Roubache, Minister Delegate for Vocational Education, Training, and Apprenticeships. These exchanges highlighted the importance of innovation, skills development, and collaboration in supporting the future of our industries and strengthening strategic capabilities.

We also had the opportunity to visit the Kinéis smallsat model displayed at the Ministère des Armées booth. We are incredibly proud to have designed and integrated all 25 Kineis small satellites, powering Europe's first IoT constellation 🛰. A great reminder of the expertise and commitment of our teams in delivering innovative space solutions.

📣 Safran and Hemeria Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Develop Innovative Electromagnetic Intelligence Solutions Combining AI and High-Altitude Balloons 🎈.

At the Eurosatory exhibition, Safran AI and HEMERIA have signed a memorandum of understanding sealing a partnership focused on designing innovative electromagnetic intelligence and electronic warfare solutions capable of detecting, identifying, and analyzing land, air, or maritime radars and communications from very high altitudes.
At the heart of this agreement is the project to equip a stratospheric balloon, provided by Hemeria, with sensors integrated with artificial intelligence models developed by Safran AI.

Nicolas Multan, President of HEMERIA, states: “Combining our balloon platform with Safran AI’s artificial intelligence offers users an unprecedented synergy between high-altitude operations and advanced AI. We were looking for a partner who could turn demanding operational requirements into concrete solutions – Safran AI fulfills this need.”.

🎈 HEMERIA's Jackdaw tethered aerostat provides a unique capability for continuous surveillance, combining rapid deployment, 24/7 airborne coverage of wide areas, and wind resistance of many days.
🔎ARGO 360, the turret developed by Magellium Artal Group, equipped with three Electro-Optical (EO) sensors and two Infrared (IR) sensors, delivers wide-area coverage, advanced real-time automatic event detection capabilities, and high-resolution visual confirmation.

By combining these technologies, we aim to provide 24/7 automated site surveillance capability able to:
✅ Detect intrusions and abnormal behaviors automatically; with a radius of 1000 m
✅ Track targets of interest in real time
✅ Generate qualified alerts with precise geolocation
✅ Reduce operator workload while improving responsiveness

This collaboration opens up exciting opportunities for the protection of industrial facilities, critical infrastructure, military sites, and temporary areas of interest requiring enhanced surveillance.

[Eurosatory - Day 2] Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming numerous visitors to our Hemeria booth, including:
- The Delegation of Ivory Coast
- The French Armed Forces Inspectorate delegation
- Patrick Aufort - Director of Agence de l'innovation de défense
- Alexandre Lahousse, Deputy Director General of the DGA - Direction générale de l'armement

As well as many other customers, partners, and prospects who came to discuss current and future challenges in defense and security.

We were also proud to host a conference dedicated to (Space Situational Awareness), bringing together experts and stakeholders to exchange insights on this strategic topic. A sincere thank you to all the speakers (Niels Tourneret, Ludovic Monnerat, Laurent Francillout et Pierre Ducourtieux), for sharing their expertise and to all participants for the quality of the discussions and their engagement.
