We have many new exciting sites up and running across Sussex this spring. Here, we’ve returned to the Goodwood area tasked with transforming another listed barn conversion.

These images show progress from week two to week four, where you can see us opening the space, and capturing a rare pause as the new liquid screed cured, just before the first of the new steel arrived.

Modern fixtures, finishes and partitions have been stripped out including the internal glazing and staircase. The entire ground floor has been taken back down to concrete to introduce a whole new underfloor heating system, laid over upgraded insulations, corner to corner.

The original oak structure will have all of the dark stains carefully removed, reset back to lighter natural tones and ready for a whole new aesthetic.

This beautiful space, with internal heights exceeding 7.5 metres, is going to be a very special home.

We cannot wait to show you the end result!

An iconic clock that greets visitors to Fareham will be repaired this summer after years of not working.
Each of the four faces of the clock at St Peter and St Paul Church, Osborn Road, Fareham, were carefully winched from the church tower to the ground this week as the first stage in a crucial restoration project.

New Park Community Centre has stood within central Chichester since 1887, providing a safe and welcoming space for all ages.

This charitable organisation supports over 90 community groups and welcomes around 130,000 visitors each year, offering a place for learning, health and wellbeing, support services, local schools, and even a cinema! Its role within the city reaches far beyond the building itself, it enriches the social and cultural environment for so many local residents.

Last year, we completed works to replace the southern roof, and we were pleased to be asked to continue on to deliver the next vital phase of restoration. These works follow the centre’s “Raise the Roof” campaign, where they have worked so hard to secure funds to protect and preserve this much loved Victorian building for generations to come.

We are proud to offer our experience, expertise, and great value in support of such vital local organisations.

Works continue to the main farmhouse at Kingfishers.

The original oak framing has been carefully sandblasted and treated following reconfigurations, ahead of new infills and linings. We’ve built up and insulated over the retained rafters so that they can remain exposed internally, becoming a key detail in the new design.

Introduction of new services has begun, with the ground floor ceilings built down, forming vital service routes across the property. In turn, we avoid conflict between the new M&E systems and exposed and infilled framing. We’ve also introduced some independent linings, which will help protect against damp without disturbing the original masonry walling.

The transition from taking a building apart, to putting it back together, is an exciting moment in every build.

Whiteways Cafe is a renowned local landmark that has served our community for decades. Known for its popular meet-ups and pitstops, the site has welcomed so many, including cyclists, walkers and most notably, the biking community.

You may have seen our signage appear at the site, just outside of at the start of May. We were approached by The Norfolk Estate just three months ago, and were asked to take the reins following planning approval. We worked quickly to develop the design into a deliverable scheme, and to prepare to undertake the works on site.

We’re proud to have been appointed and trusted with this task, and hope to do the community proud and deliver something special that can be enjoyed for many years to come.

There’s a saying, “built from the ground up”, but this extension is quite literally being built from the ground it lies upon.

Excavations had to be careful and precise, under close supervision of the appointed Archeologist due to its position, being just outside of the walls of Amberley Castle.

During this process, we extracted over 20 tonnes of stone, which has been cleaned, dried, cut and made ready to form the outer skin of this wonderful extension. Here you can see the upper portion of the gable being laid by our team.

Phase one at this large listed estate project is now complete, bringing the initial enabling and groundworks package to a close.

This first stage has focused on essential upgrades to infrastructure across the site, including an entirely new drainage system, services, courtyard finishes and internal enabling works. Splitting the programme in two has allowed us to carry out investigations throughout and get everything in place to hit the ground running for the conversions and fit out.

We’ve now stepped away for the site's busy summer period, and will return later in the year when the summer season is over.

A wonderful team, providing the most amazing service.
