This was sent to the workshop. The client said that it's not turning on. I checked the PSU board and noticed that some components are blown but the fuse is ok. I know, I cannot outsource the transformer and based on my experience with power surge issues. Most of the time there are some other damaged components that require replacing. So I just replaced the PSu board . After replacing the PSU board. Error 8.4 appears on screen immediately indicating a damaged load cell.Good thing the client was understand the issue when I explained to him the problem.

Long story short - Issue was rectified by replacing a damaged load cell. which is probably caused by power surge .๐Ÿ’ชโ˜๏ธ

Servicing/Calibrating Seven Excellence pH on our client from Monaghan. They are globally developing and manufacturing medicines, anti biotics treatment, for farm and companion animals.

Another successful repair completed by Wishart Group Service Engineer, Fernando Perez ๐Ÿ”ง๐Ÿ’ก

Recently, Fernando was asked to investigate a fingerprint comparator that was repeatedly blowing fuses, leaving the unit unusable.

The unit had previously been dismantled, with the transformer removed, leading to an initial suspicion that the transformer was at fault. However, rather than replacing expensive components, Fernando carried out a systematic fault-finding process to identify the true cause ๐Ÿ”

The culprit turned out to be the electronic dimmer, which had failed and was causing the fuses to blow.

Fernando replaced the faulty dimmer, renewed sections of the wiring, fitted a new lamp holder, and replaced three blown bulbs. Once reassembled, the illuminator was fully tested and returned to normal operation โœ…

It's another great example of why thorough diagnostics matter. By identifying the actual fault, we were able to repair the unit quickly and economically, avoiding the unnecessary replacement of a perfectly good transformer.

A busy day of fault-finding for Wishart Group Service Engineer, Fernando Perez ๐Ÿ”งโ™จ๏ธ

Recently, Eurofins sent us three Nickel-Electro Ltd. NE1-28B Boiling Baths that were all suffering from the same issue, the onboard MCB was tripping after only a few minutes of operation โš ๏ธ

These boiling baths are designed for demanding laboratory environments and, in this case, had been operating all day, every day for years. Continuous boiling naturally creates a warm, moisture-rich environment, which over time can contribute to corrosion of electrical connections.

Rather than simply replacing components, Fernando carried out a detailed inspection and quickly traced the fault to corroded spade connectors and cable terminations. The corrosion had increased electrical resistance, leading to overheating and causing the protection devices to trip ๐Ÿ”

After repairing the damaged wiring and connections, two of the boiling baths were successfully returned to full working order and passed operational testing โœ…

The third unit revealed a different issue during investigation. A micro-leak had developed in the heating element, allowing moisture to affect the electrical system. This bath will require a replacement heating element before it can be returned to service.

It's a great example of how laboratory equipment that operates continuously can eventually suffer wear-related issues, and why thorough diagnostics are so important when identifying the true cause of a fault.

We're delighted to announce that Wishart Group has been granted Approved Verifier status by the Office for Product Safety and Standards under the Weights and Measures Act 1985. ๐ŸŽ‰โš–๏ธ

This approval allows us to test, re-qualify, and apply re-qualification marks to a range of trade-approved seca weighing instruments following repair or adjustment, providing our customers with a faster and more complete service offering.

The approval covers a number of seca โ€“ precision for health and Vogel & Halke models, including popular seca medical scales used throughout hospitals and healthcare settings.

A special thank you goes to Amanda McCarroll and Mark Henderson, who worked tirelessly through the approval process, quality system requirements, audits, and documentation needed to achieve this milestone. Their hard work and attention to detail have made this possible ๐Ÿ‘

A Mettler Toledo PBK989 industrial scale had suffered an overload event at Almac Group, resulting in damaged flexures and inaccurate weighing performance. โš ๏ธ๐Ÿ“ฆ

Following inspection and diagnosis, Rafal identified that the overload had caused mechanical damage to the flexure assembly, affecting the scale's ability to measure accurately.
