We have received planning permission for our project on Berkhamsted High Street!

We are delighted to be working on a historic wheelwrights shop that gave Holliday Street its name, having been occupied by Holliday Bros for many years. The adjacent terrace, which is locally listed, became the first part of the shop when it was converted to commercial use in 1839, long before the single storey shop was added in the 20th century. It will now be restored as a two bedroom house, alongside the shop.

As the buildings are within the Berkhamsted Conservation Area, our design includes two green wildflower roofs and bat boxes. We are also reinstating many of the terrace’s old original features, including the sash windows and the style of the front door.

We’re excited to see the project come to life!

Swipe to see how this elevation used to look!

Our client wanted to modernise the house while preserving its mid-century character.

This unique split level home features a balcony at the front and a terrace at the rear, creating a nice connection to the outdoors on both sides.

The house also benefits from a range of low-energy upgrades, including better insulated roof and walls, triple-glazed windows and a replacement of the gas boiler with an air source heat pump.

This completed project balances old and new. We preserved the homes original 1930s character to the front (with the addition of two new dormers) and introduced a modern two storey extension to the rear.

This remodel has created more space for our clients, featuring a spacious open plan kitchen, dining and living area on the ground floor. Upstairs, two new bedrooms have been created, including a generous master suite complete with a large en-suite and walk in wardrobe.

Visuals from our proposal for a single storey extension on an early 18th-century listed building in Little Gaddesden, set within a Conservation Area and the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The design features a copper roof with brickwork to complement the existing building, creating a sensitive balance between historic character and modern design.

Our retrofit project on Rectory Hill in Amersham features thick external walls formed from the existing cavity walls, built up with high levels of external wall insulation and finished with a render. This creates a highly airtight building envelope, helping to significantly reduce heat loss.

Internally, the client wanted a remodel to create a larger-kitchen dining area, along with a new master suite including an ensuite and walk-in wardrobe.

Swipe to see what our Hall Park project used to look like!

Our clients were looking for a new open plan kitchen and garage - the side elevation offered the perfect opportunity for this.

The corner window frames the stunning views across the Hertfordshire countryside.

We designed with sustainability in mind, using a timber frame finished with heat-treated, charred ash cladding.
