Listed building, modern performance.
This heritage home now runs a 7.125 kWp Aiko Neostar in-roof array with Tigo optimisers, a Fox ESS KH10.5 inverter and 28 kWh Fox EQ4800 storage. A Fox ESS EPS Box provides up to 24 hours whole-home backup during an outage.

The result: The energy bill dropped from £172 to £17 per month an instant saving of around 90 percent by shifting to off-peak electricity and self-consuming more onsite. Careful in-roof design preserved the original oak beam roof and all cabling is hidden to protect the property’s character.

Design for a heritage roof:
Planning permission required a solution that did not alter the building’s external character. We specified an in-roof system the tiles were carefully removed and stored, with the array sitting flush to the roofline. All DC and AC cabling was concealed and trench-run to the garage, where the inverter and batteries are installed for clean aesthetics and easy maintenance.

High energy home, smart solution ☀️
This customer has an indoor pool heated by a heat pump, so their base load and overall energy use is seriously high. 🏊🏼‍♂️

To tackle it properly, we designed a system that works on a single-phase property but still delivers big performance:
17.1 kWp solar PV array using 36 x Aiko 480W Gen3 panels across 5 MPPTs
Over 60 kWh of storage required, so we installed 2 x Fox ESS KH8 inverters in parallel
Each inverter has its own battery stack: 1 x Fox ESS EQM4800 + 6 x Fox ESS EQS4800

Total storage: 65.2 kWh
We also added a Fox ESS L Series 7 kW EV charger that intelligently charges when excess solar is detected.

Even in February, this system has already produced 39% of the home’s total energy consumption since installation. That’s huge, and it’s before you even factor in overnight off-peak battery charging and higher summer generation.
