Over the past month, Statkraft have continued to make strides in developing their solar projects within the UK. Planning consent was recently received for a new solar farm in Cornwall, which is projected to deliver enough renewable electricity to power the equivalent of up to 12,000 homes, and a public consultation has been announced for a new solar farm in Yorkshire, to ensure that the project benefits the local community it sits alongside.

Over the first quarter of 2026, Great Britain has been breaking records in renewable electricity generation. With favourable weather conditions and increased capacity, solar generation broke its record twice in April, generating 14.4GW at its peak, and wind generation reached 29.2 TWh in the first 3 months of the year.

This week, we celebrated Mental Health Awareness Week, encouraging our team to embrace this year’s theme of ‘Take Action’, to support their own mental wellbeing and that of those around them. We know how important it is to prioritise mental health, and we are proud to say that over 7% of our team are qualified Mental Health First Aiders (MHFA).

A huge thank you to Andy Roach, a volunteer speaker from WaterAid UK, who delivered an insightful presentation on the intersection between water, climate and energy to our employees yesterday.

It was an eye-opening reminder of the challenges that communities face globally in accessing clean water – and the ways WaterAid are implementing long-term solutions with the support of renewable energy.

With this week also being , Andy included some tips on how to consider our own water use in our everyday lives.
