Goacher Sails We have now been designing and making sails in Windermere for over 25 years. Continued investment in computer design has kept us at the front of the fleet.

Our initial focus on racing sails has yielded a high championship tally including World, European, and National Titles. We quickly grew to include cruising sails, covers and canopies, which have become an equally important focus for our team. Now the largest loft in the North, we offer a comprehensive service to our customers who range from sailors, power boaters, boatbuilders and sailing schools

to industrial and architectural businesses both large and small. When many of our competitors are subcontracting to Asia, we are committed to in-house manufacture to safe guard outstanding levels of quality and service demanded by our customers at home and abroad. We offer the latest technology which is underpinned by real experience gained in the loft and on the water. We support this with a repair service to keep you on the water.

Job description:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking sailmaker, full training will be provided.

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to join our team in a dynamic work place, working within a team manufacturing a wide range of products for the marine industry.

Responsibilities:

- Cut, sew, and assemble sails using specialized tools and sewing machines, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship.
- Repair and refurbish existing sails, replacing worn or damaged sections to extend their lifespan.
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process to guarantee durability and performance standards are met.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience in sail making or related textile craftsmanship, would be desirable but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Good physical stamina to handle heavy fabrics and work in various weather conditions when necessary.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
