We’re installing a new roof with a vaulted ceiling and roof lights to open up the space and bring in more natural light.

A little look at something different we’re working on for the National Trust.

We’re carrying out bespoke decoration work in one of their rooms, with plenty of preparation going into every wall, moulding and detail.

Same section. Five months apart. Quite a difference.

This is just one snapshot from a much bigger refurbishment, but it shows the work that goes into taking a space from stripped back to finished and ready to move into.

The property had a full overhaul, including rewiring, plumbing, plastering, decorating and new carpets throughout, while keeping its original character.

A leak left this kitchen and utility needing more than a fresh coat of paint.

We arranged for our specialist to remove the asbestos under controlled conditions, then got stuck into reboarding, replastering and decorating to get both rooms back in order.

We’re looking for two new faces to join the Burgess team.

An experienced general builder who takes pride in their work, and a reliable general labourer who’s happy to get stuck in. Labouring experience is preferred, but not essential.

Both roles are full-time, working across Buckingham and surrounding areas, with competitive pay and an immediate start. Driving licence required for both.

The house has had its moment. Now for the outside.

Back at Green End, where the garage has had new timber cladding and a replacement roof that’s nearly finished. The new patio is nearly all down too, following on from the progress we shared earlier.

You’ve seen the rooms, the bathrooms and that oak staircase. Here’s a look at what’s been keeping us busy beyond the back door.

Nearly time to get the scaffold out of the way and show this one off.

New lime render and exterior decoration have given the building a fresh look, with the project now nearing completion.

The GB Scaffolding lads will be coming down shortly so you can see the full result.

A bit more progress at Matt’s grandfather’s house following the garage fire.

First fix electrics and plumbing are underway, plasterboard is going up on the walls and ceilings, and new joists have been installed in the garage and utility.

Still plenty to do, but it’s good to see the affected rooms starting to come back together. We’ll keep you posted as work continues.
