Old concrete does not have to end up in landfill.

Crushed and graded properly, it works hard as sub-base, piling mats, haul roads and backfill. Same job as fresh aggregate on plenty of applications, at a lower cost and with a much smaller carbon footprint.

No mixing until you say go.

Volumetric means the concrete is made right there on your site, at the moment you need it. Nothing sits in a drum on the way over, so it is fresh every single time.

It also means no guessing. Need a bit more? The driver mixes more on the spot. Ordered too much? You only pay for what you actually use.

Volumetric means the concrete is mixed on your site, not at a plant miles away.🏗️

The lorry arrives carrying the raw materials separately. Cement, aggregate, sand and water stay apart until the moment you need them. The mix is then made on the spot, to the grade you ordered, and poured straight from the truck.👏

Two things follow from that.

You pay for what you use. The meter records the exact volume discharged, so there is no ordering a full load and covering the difference when you only needed 3.5m³.

Nothing sets in transit. A drum mixer starts the clock the moment it leaves the plant. Volumetric does not, so a delay on site is not a problem, and a staged pour can take as long as it needs.

It also means the mix can be adjusted on arrival. If the ground turns out different to expected, the grade or the consistency can change there and then.💪

Concrete flows downhill before it sets. On a slope that means thin, weak patches at the top and thick build-up at the bottom, which is where the cracks show up later.🏗️

How you handle it comes down to the gradient. A gentle slope needs nothing more than careful levelling. Medium ground wants shallow benches cut in and a stiffer mix. Steeper than that and you are into stepped levels with proper formwork holding each section until it sets.

Whatever the gradient, pour from the bottom upwards so each section builds against concrete already in place, and get the ground compacted properly before anything arrives.

Foundations or oversite? They go in days apart, often poured by the same team, and both disappear under the building once the job is done. Easy to assume they are the same thing. They are not.💪

Foundations sit in trenches beneath the load-bearing walls and carry the weight of the whole building into solid ground.

Oversite covers the floor area inside those foundations and carries no wall loads at all. It gives the floor a flat, solid base, blocks rising moisture, seals out pests, and adds thermal mass for underfloor heating.

Thin down the wrong one to save money and you are looking at cracked walls or a failed floor later.

Paying for concrete you never used is one of those costs everyone just accepts. It does not have to be that way.💪

With a volumetric mixer, the sand, stone, cement and water travel to your site separately and are only mixed once the lorry arrives. Nothing is batched at a depot hours earlier and nothing is sitting in a drum going off on the way. The volume is measured as it pours, so what you are charged for is what actually goes into the ground.

Run a little short? The driver mixes another batch on the spot. Need less than you thought? You are not paying for the rest.

Fresh concrete, no waste, no second delivery charge.
