🐝Another Mitsubishi ASHP service 🐝

We recently carried out a full routine service on a customer's Mitsubishi Air Source Heat Pump. As part of our thorough checklist, we did a complete system diagnostic and gave the error history a full review to ensure everything was running exactly as it should.

The homeowner had been experiencing some frustrating issues with air in the system and continuous pressure drops.

🐝 Panasonic Air Source Heat Pump Repair 🐝

We were called out to a Panasonic Air Source Heat Pump that was locking out on a stubborn H62 error code.

After a thorough investigation, we identified that there was a faulty anti-freeze valve. Instead of protecting the system, the valve was discharging water constantly, causing a significant drop in system pressure and stopping the flow entirely.

The Fix:
To get the heating back on immediately, we performed a temporary repair by:
🐝 Removing the faulty anti-freeze valve.
🐝 Rejoining the pipework to restore the circuit.
🐝 Testing and commissioning the system.

The heat pump is now back up and running, keeping the home warm and cozy. We’ll be returning soon to install a replacement valve to ensure the system has full frost protection for the future.

🐝HIGH BILLS GONE🐝

We recently visited a homeowner who having much higher bills than expected after moving into her new property that has a Mitsubishi Ecodan installed.

After a thorough system health check, the problem was clear poor commissioning. The unit had been set up inefficiently when it was first installed, meaning it was working harder and more expensively than necessary.

How we fixed it..
• Full System Audit: We dove into the settings to optimize flow temperatures and weather compensation.
• Smart Scheduling: We reconfigured the operating times to sync perfectly with the homeowner's cheap energy tariff.
• Efficiency Boost: By shifting the heavy lifting to off peak hours, we’ve ensured the home stays toasty without breaking the bank.

We recently attended a call out for a Panasonic Air Source Heat Pump that had completely lost its ability to provide heating.
Upon inspection, we found the system was severely airlocked.

The circulation pump was struggling to push water through the pipes because of trapped air pockets, effectively bringing the heating cycle to a halt.

To ensure this doesn't happen again, we didn't just bleed the system we improved the design
• Relocated the Circulation Pump: Moved to a more efficient position on the pipework to optimize flow.
• New Service Point: Added a dedicated access point to easily remove air and inject anti corrosion inhibitor.
• System Repipe: Streamlined the pipework for better performance.

The system is now fully repiped, pressurized, and running at peak efficiency!

🐝Deep Dive Maintenance🐝

We’ve recently attended Mitsubishi Ecodan Air Source Heat Pump that needed a full strip down service.

It’s a perfect example of why regular maintenance are so important.

The rear condenser was heavily impacted with leaves and debris. When the airflow is blocked, the unit has to work twice as hard to pull heat from the air, driving up your energy usage.
The Results of the Visit:
• Deep Clean: We cleared out the hidden debris, restoring full airflow and efficiency to the condenser.
• Failed Immersion: During our system checks, we discovered the immersion heater had failed.
• Settings Optimization: While checking the controls, we noticed a few settings weren't for the property. With a few minor adjustments, we’ve optimized the run times and flow temperatures, which is going to save the homeowner some serious money on their electricity bills.

A clean and well calibrated heat pump is an efficent heat pump.

🐝Another day, another successful diagnostic🐝

We were called out to look at a Samsung Air Source Heat Pump that was struggling with an intermittent flow issue.

Intermittent faults can be some of the most frustrating for homeowners, as the system works fine one minute and then trips out the next. After a thorough check carried out by Ben, He narrowed it down to two main causes.
1. Trapped Air: Air pockets in a renewable system act like a physical barrier, messing with flow rates and preventing the heat pump from moving energy efficiently.
2. Loose Diverter Valve Plug: A slightly loose connection on the diverter valve meant the signal to switch between heating and hot water was hit and miss.
The Result? We purged the system of all air and secured the electrical connections. The unit is now back to peak performance.

🐝CALL OUT 🐝

We were up and out bright and early this weekend to a callout to tackle a leaking auto air vent.

These little components play a huge role in keeping your heating system quiet and efficient by letting out trapped air. But when they start to leak, they can cause pressure loss and unnecessary mess.

An AAV is designed to automatically bleed air from your heating system. When they fail, they often start to "weep" or leak water. This leads to:
✔️Constant pressure drops
✔️ Rust and corrosion around the valve
✔️Inefficient radiators (cold spots!)
