Happy New Year to all. Thanks for you support in 2025. A fun, busy year doing handywork all over the country from Crosby to Cornwall, Liverpool to Leeds. Sponsoring my lad’s Marina Academy football team, spending the majority of my waking hours at Firwood Waterloo Rugby Club. Working in lofts, using family members for child labour, freezing my bullocks off on roofs, plumbing, pressure washing, clearing drains, building smoking shelters and everything inbetween. Let’s do it all again next year.
Here’s to a healthy, happy and handy 2026 to you and yours.

A good couple of weeks at Firwood Waterloo Rugby Club adding a lick of paint to the International Room ceiling. That was a helluva job. I now know how Michelangelo felt. 🐢
Then onto the ladies toilets, going from baby blue 🤷‍♂️ to black and white.
And today a day of digging and digging, 🪏 building stands for the new advertising boards on the roundabout.
Big up to Justin Hartley who’s doing a great job over there.
Loads more work going on there - watch this space.

Some scallywag has taken my cap to school and is refusing to return it, sending me pictures of him wearing it.
I have this message for you:

I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want.
I do have a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career…

Skills that can be put to use undertaking many an outdoor task such as jet washing, gutter cleaning, fence painting, furniture building and many more jobs that people may need doing to get their outdoor space ready for the summer ☀️.

It appears someone has helped themselves to the tools in my van last night!
My van was parked on College Road, and they’ve got in through the back doors.
They’ve taken Dewalt cordless 18v: electric plane, SDS drill, hammer drill and a dewalt tote bag of hand tools.
If anyone sees any of these dumped in the area, please let me know.
I’ll be in touch with any customers this week if it means I can’t get to your jobs.
Hopefully Father Christmas gets me Screwfix vouchers this year!
Onwards.

Greenloons JFC under 12s are looking for 2 more Sunday players playing in the Craven Minor league. Train tues in Formby/Crosby area.

Not concerned about ability but past experience will be required as they’re going into big school level!

🎶 Handy Highlight of the Week🎶
Garage conversion (updates incoming) fence painting and drain clearing kept me busy this week.
But this weeks highlight is this staff bathroom renovation at Satterthwaites Bakehouse .
New waste and water pipe work, panelling and a good clean up. A tricky job in a small space but good fun - the pastries and cakes certainly helped!

*Their salt & pepper sausage rolls are delicious by the way.
