Did you know that DARV Construction are certified EPDM roof installers?

Having recently completed our EPDM installation certification, we were delighted to put our training into practice on this flat roof replacement project.

The client contacted us after experiencing ongoing water ingress, which had caused dampness and deterioration to the internal wall. Following a thorough inspection, we identified that the existing roof detail was allowing water to pe*****te at the wall junction.

To permanently resolve the issue, we carried out the following works:

✅ Reframed the roof structure.

✅ Extended and formed a new parapet detail over the boundary wall.

✅ Installed new OSB roof decking.

✅ Fitted a single-piece EPDM rubber membrane, fully bonded to the deck.

✅ Installed lead flashing into the gable wall for a watertight finish.

✅ Eliminated the weak points that had been allowing water pe*******on.

EPDM is one of the most reliable flat roofing systems available, offering excellent durability, flexibility, and long-term weather resistance. With a seamless membrane covering the roof area, the risk of leaks is significantly reduced compared to many traditional flat roofing systems.
The finished result is a clean, modern, low-maintenance roof designed to provide lasting protection for years to come.

If you’re going to cut into a roof — it has to be done right. No shortcuts. No guesswork.

Out with the old, undersized Velux windows and in with larger, top-hung units to completely transform this space.

The difference in headroom and natural light in both the office and ensuite is night and day.

This wasn’t just a straight swap — the roof structure was properly altered with additional rafters installed and everything supported correctly from the base up.

This is a handcrafted ledged and braced timber door, built in a traditional style for strength and durability. Solid vertical TGV boarding is reinforced with horizontal ledges and diagonal “Z” bracing, helping prevent warping and keeping the door aligned over time.

Made from quality timber and finished with heavy-duty black strap hinges, it’s ideal for outbuildings, barns, and sheds. Each door is made to suit the opening for a clean, snug fit.

A recent property renovation completed by DARV Construction.

This project involved resolving long-standing damp issues and carrying out a full internal upgrade to restore the property to a high standard.
The works included repairing damp-affected walls, reboarding and fully replastering to create a clean and durable finish throughout the home.

All window openings were upgraded with newly installed deep timber window reveals and window boards, giving the windows a sharper and more refined finish.

The front entrance door was carefully remastered into the existing opening. Instead of using standard uPVC trim, which is commonly fitted by many installation companies, the door was finished properly into the surrounding structure to achieve a cleaner and more professional result.

At DARV Construction we believe in delivering a quality finish, not simply the quickest solution.
The rear door was installed with new timber reveals and architrave, replacing the previous finish at the customer’s request and ensuring the new installation matched the interior of the property.

New internal doors were also fitted throughout the home, completing the renovation and modernising the interior.

This project highlights the difference that attention to detail and proper finishing work can make when upgrading a property.

Recent flooring and hearth works completed by DARV Construction.

This project involved installing herringbone flooring throughout the ground floor, creating a classic layout that works well with the character of the property and helps draw the space together from room to room.

Both original fireplaces were finished with Victorian-style geometric tiles, carefully set out to frame each hearth and complement the period features of the house.
