Another successful installation completed at High-Tech Engineering Ltd following the recent delivery of the company’s new Star SX-38 Type B sliding head lathe.

The machine was delivered and positioned by Charles Russell Transport Uk Limited, with installation and commissioning efficiently carried out by Service Engineer Lionel Wong.

Next week, our applications team will be on-site to deliver a dedicated setting and operator training programme, ensuring the High-Tech Engineering team can maximise the capability and performance of the SX-38 Type B.

Following the successful delivery and installation of their new Star SR-32JIII Type B sliding head lathe, the team at Harrison Silverdale is this week undertaking a dedicated setting and operator training programme led by applications engineers Bart Lazarski and Dennis Williams.

Representing a strategic investment in productivity, capacity and long-term manufacturing capability, the new machine has been introduced to enhance efficiency while supporting the high standards Harrison Silverdale is known for delivering to its customers.

Once training is complete, the SR-32JIII Type B will move into full production, manufacturing a range of high-quality fastening solutions and supporting the company’s continued growth.

An existing OEM customer in the South East has today taken delivery of a new Star ST-38 sliding head lathe, replacing their Star ECAS-32T after more than 15 years of reliable service.

As Star’s flagship model, the Star ST-38 combines advanced functionality, exceptional versatility and outstanding performance, enabling complex components to be fully machined in a single set-up.

Compared to a conventional sliding head lathe, the triple turret ST-38 provides a machining configuration similar to that of a fixed head lathe, while retaining the precision and capability of sliding head technology. The result is almost limitless machining flexibility for complex components up to 42mm in diameter (options required).

A productive few days at Harrison Silverdale's facility in Sheffield, where the company’s first Star SR-32JIII Type B sliding head lathe was delivered and positioned by Charles Russell Transport, followed by an efficient installation carried out by Service Engineer Mark Healy.

With commissioning now successfully completed, the next stage will see a comprehensive setting and operator training course take place, enabling the team to move into production and make full use of the machine’s advanced capabilities.
