It’s been a while since the team tackled a nice, clean loft — and we finally found one over in Pen*stone! 👌

This job was actually secured from a “roundabout quote”. The customer sent over their measurements as it was a bit far for me to travel just to quote. Once they received the price, they were happy to go ahead and even mentioned that I came in £1300 cheaper than a major loft boarding company, which is crazy considering how straightforward the job was!

The work carried out included:
• Correctly distributing the existing insulation
• Fitting loft lids to the spotlights
• Stilting the loft ready for flooring
• Installing 18mm Caber tongue-and-groove loft boarding
• Rolling out top-up insulation between the joists before boarding

It was honestly a breath of fresh air, as some of the lofts we’ve done lately have been really challenging! 😅

BEFORE → AFTER loft transformation in Rotherham 👌

This loft was a bit of a challenge as the joists were all different sizes, leaving the loft with three different levels.

Using a raised loft boarding system and 18mm Caber flooring, we managed to get everything perfectly level while protecting the insulation below.

We also installed top-up insulation cross laid, making sure the correct air gap was left for ventilation.

The result 👇
A strong, safe and fully usable loft storage space for the customer.

✨ Another Couple of Loft Projects Completed! ✨

We’ve recently finished two loft boarding projects in the Sheffield and Chesterfield areas — and we’re pleased to say the customers were delighted with the results (with reviews now live on MyBuilder 🙌).

What the work included:

✔️ Raised loft boarding
✔️ 18mm Caber tongue & groove flooring
✔️ Loft stilting and insulation
✔️ Safe, solid boarding throughout

For both properties, we widened the loft hatch to allow us to use larger 1.44m boards. This can actually work out more cost-effective than smaller board packs (like those from DIY stores), as they cover less area and can end up costing more overall.

Opening the hatch can often:
• 💰 Help offset material costs
• 🪜 Make access easier and safer
• ✅ Allow for future ladder system installation

It’s a smart upgrade that can pay for itself in the long run.

We’ve just completed this loft project for a lovely customer over Chesterfield way 🏡

The job included:
✅ 28m² of loft boarding
✅ Insulation upgrade with a 100mm base layer between joists
✅ Cross-laid top-up insulation for maximum efficiency ♨️🧠

All completed within a day by the three of us 😀
