🚧 Progress is powering ahead in Essex.

Every major EV charging hub starts long before the chargers arrive.
Right now, our team is delivering the electrical infrastructure that makes it all possible, with the latest phase of works now well underway.

At the heart of this project is a brand-new substation and feeder pillar, creating the backbone for a high-capacity connection and laying the foundations for reliable, future-ready charging.

Once complete, the site will feature:
⚡ 4 × 150kW rapid chargers
⚡ 5 × 50kW fast chargers
⚡ 11 × 22kW AC chargers

That's 20 charge points serving 40 charging bays, including priority bays.

It's easy to focus on the chargers you can see, but it's the infrastructure beneath the surface that makes projects like this possible. From substations and grid connections to final energisation, every stage plays a vital role in delivering reliable EV charging at scale.

Another fantastic project taking shape, and we're looking forward to sharing more as we move closer to completion.

The LV installation is now complete and awaiting energisation, while works on the HV infrastructure are progressing well.

Once complete, the site will feature:
🔋 3 × 50kW DC chargers
🔋 4 × 150kW DC chargers
🔋 5 × 22kW AC chargers

That's enough infrastructure to allow 24 vehicles to charge simultaneously, helping support the growing demand for EV charging.
It got us thinking...

🏁 The Final Push at Renfrew

A proper bird’s-eye view of progress on site: surfacing is complete, the layout is clearly defined, and the area is now starting to look like the finished product. 🙌

This project, delivered in partnership with POGO Charge, is now entering its final stages as we work towards completion.

This final stretch is all about the details. Over the next few days, we're focused on:
✅ Snagging and final quality checks
🧹 Tidying, making good, and leaving the site looking its best
⚙️ Final fit-out and commissioning works
🚧 Completing line marking and signage where required

⚡ Working alongside SP Energy Networks (SPEN), we've successfully delivered the grid connection needed to energise the site. Our team has also installed the NAL infrastructure that forms the backbone of the charging hub.

The finished hub will feature 4 × 200kW i-charging ultra-rapid chargers, helping to provide reliable, high-speed charging for EV drivers across the area. ⚡🔋

✨ Reaching this stage is always satisfying. The hard work is nearly done, and the project really comes together in the finishing touches.

🚧 Project spotlight: Workplace EV charging infrastructure delivered for Powered by Pod

Another turnkey EV infrastructure project successfully delivered in partnership with Pod, supporting the continued expansion of workplace charging facilities.

This installation involved 2 x 7kW EV charging units, alongside a full package of civil and electrical works. The project scope included CAT scanning, trenching, ducting, concrete base installation, cable runs, circuit protection, and final EV charging installation, providing a seamless end-to-end delivery from initial site preparation through to commissioning.

Projects like this highlight the value of a turnkey approach to workplace EV charging infrastructure, combining civil engineering and electrical expertise within a single coordinated delivery model. This helps streamline project delivery, reduce complexity, and ensure a smooth route from concept to operational charging facilities.

A great effort from all teams involved and another successful project delivered alongside Pod.
