An incredibly proud moment for JDT as collective tour sponsors of the UK Armed Forces Wheelchair Rugby League ANZAC26 tour to Australia.
Overcoming immense logistics and short deadlines, the team delivered a truly life-enhancing experience for everyone involved. From attending the deeply moving Dawn Service on ANZAC Day and engaging with local schools, to playing an absolute thriller of an inaugural Test match against the NRL Australian Military Wheelchair RL side, the tour exemplified the true spirit of teamwork and mateship.
Huge congratulations to the entire team, the organisers, and everyone who contributed to making this historic tour such an outstanding success. We are honoured to have played a part in supporting our UK Armed Forces community on the world stage.

Progress update from Smallfield! 👷‍♂️ The team is laying 500m of 125mm HV ducts to power a new housing development. We’re working under multiway traffic signals to keep both our crew and the public safe.

We’re officially underway! 🏗️ JDT is delivering a major 1,050m track work project in Greenwich, laying four 150mm ducts to power new skyrise flats. This critical infrastructure not only supports the new development but also provides vital reinforcement for the area's future energy needs. ⚡

A Proud Joint Venture for JDT

We recently completed a project at Clements Road, Bermondsey, carried out by JDT Utilities/Power.
This marks the first project we have successfully delivered for McAleer & Rush.

JDT undertook the excavation works on behalf of the client to facilitate their connection to the 12” heating pipe located within the kerb line on Clements Road. The project presented several challenges, all of which were effectively managed by the JDT Utilities and Power team. These included working in close proximity to an IP gas main, as well as excavation depths exceeding 3 metres.

JDT would like to extend our thanks to McAleer & Rush for their continued support throughout the project. We would also like to recognise RMD Kwikform for their valuable assistance in providing temporary works trench support under very challenging conditions.

London Road Project - February 2026

This project involved the installation of double high voltage joint bays within a verge alongside 500m cable pulls. The works were initiated on 17th February 2026 to support critical infrastructure requirements. Despite the technical complexities of the site and the specific environmental positioning, the team maintained a rigorous pace to ensure all preparatory milestones were met.

Operational Success
The primary challenge of this installation was the requirement for a Deepex system to manage the excavation safely and effectively. Even with this additional structural requirement, the works proceeded exactly to plan. Our site teams managed the 500m cable pulls with precision, ensuring the integrity of the HV assets throughout the process.

While the wider project remains ongoing, all specific milestones required for audits and subsequent jointing were completed with total compliance. The targeted phase of the works was successfully wrapped up by 27th February 2026. This adherence to the schedule ensured that the follow-on jointing teams could begin their scope without delay, maintaining the overall momentum of the utility connection.

JDT Power has been joined by consultant Steve Johnson Miet, Cert IOSH, to assist us negotiate our journey towards achieving full Tier 1 NERS accreditation.

Steve is an ex-DNO trained engineer who has worked at DNO, IDNO, ICP and National Grid levels both in the UK and abroad. His skill set spans LV to 400kV covering all scopes of civils, cabling , jointing, operations, overhead lines and substations. He has over 40 years of industry experience combined with a solid foundation in HSEQ and project management. Steve has also worked for the electrical industry governing body Lloyds Register (now LRQA) as a senior assessor of utility companies for the NERS accreditation and is now an independent NERS consultant.

We welcome Steve aboard and look forward to the journey ahead.
